But my favorite part is that after you do that to your competitor, you get to punch them in the face 3 more times! Even after they are clearly unconscious and laying on the canvas!

This was a huge upset in the same vein as Tyson losing to Buster Douglas... But it was great to see as Rousey is a disrespectful person to her appointment while Holm has been professional and respectful. Also shows what great coaching can achieve...

I'm still trying to like MMA and will watch it once in awhile. I just saw Rousey go 4 rounds against an oponent on Fox Sports last week. I think it was UFC_168. I thought nobody lasted more than one round against her. The aura was definitely obliterated tonight.

I'll join in here with Spanky. I hate Wrestling because its rehearsed & fake, & MMA because it is just too barbaric for me. I like Boxing.
Having said that, as a guy who roots for underdogs, I am glad to see Holly beat Rhonda. I'm tired off seeing Rousey everywhere & would rather see Holm get some pub.

I dont think anyone said no one lasted more than a round against her ever. Miesha Tate went quite awhile with her, not sure if that was the fight you are referring to.

I think her last 3 fights were all over real quick.

Not sure what posting that picture is trying to prove. It's no doubt a barbaric sport. There shouldn't be a lot to debate here though. Yes, they need to do a better job of reffing it where someone is not getting hit while already knocked out, but there's always going to be blood and fucked up faces in the sport. They know what they are getting into.

Literally no other "sport" has this problem, right?
Take the $/opportunity away for repeatedly cheap-shotting somebody......the problem ends tomorrow.
Fine them, suspend them, ban them, whatever.

It's literally inhumane, IMO. Somebody is KO'd, and they are allowed to repeatedly pummel their head. All other sports are actively trying to reduce head trauma, except for boxing which is staying status quo with no cheap shots on an unconscious opponent.
There is no realistic explanation for allowing that.

You know the sport better than I do, I would guess. Aren't there rules against hitting someone whos unconscious? If not, there should be. If there is, enforce them well. Not sure what else needs to be said.

still odd that sportscneter showed the highlights of the fight then immediately went to a little puff-package on rousey as champ, which you could tell was made to show in the event of her winning to be like LOOK AT HOW GREAT SHE IS..... now i guess they just tweaked out the voiceover to say LOOK AT HOW GREAT SHE WAS! =D
