The ESPN football intelligentsia have begun rhapsodizing about McCarthy's superior decision-making skills. They predict that he will quickly beat out Darnold for the starting position and expect him to have a very successful rookie season.

They also continue to fawn over Jayden Daniels and seem to think he will easily be the best QB of the rookie class. Based on one minicamp performance, they have concluded that he is an elite athlete, top-tier thrower, and remarkable leader. They haven't come out and said it just yet, but some of their analysts clearly think the Bears struck out by picking Williams over Daniels. It's amazing to me that they can be so definitive before training camp has even started.

I'm not sure who said what, but I think some people just want to generate content. Daniels was a one read guy who scrambled to run. He's been a bedwetter his entire life. I have no fear of him. I love McCarthy. I could see him having better stats in a dome and likely with a better playcaller.

I've seen nothing to make me doubt Caleb. I believe McCarthy is playing with the 3rd string and Daniels is splitting reps with the ones and twos on a bottom 10 defense.

He should refuse to play until next year. Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky may have had more to work with his rookie year.
