This team sucks. We should not be playing for the division next week. :lol:

Packers linebacker Clay Matthews left last week's game against the Steelers after he reinjured his thumb, and the next day, coach Mike McCarthy said "The training staff didn't feel very good about the injury."

The training staff was apparently on to something, and in Green Bay's Wednesday injury report, the team announced Matthews is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bears.

It's not a surprise, but it's also a significant blow to a Packers team that needs to win in Chicago in order to take the NFC North title and make the postseason. At this point, it's still unclear whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his injured collarbone will play, but we should know the news for sure by Thursday.

Matthews originally broke his thumb in Week 5, and he missed the next four games. Against the Steelers, he reinjured the digit while sacking quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

(CBS) According to a report from Paul Imig of FOX Sports Wisconsin, Aaron Rodgers will start for the Packers on Sunday.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy is expected to make an official announcement shortly.
The winner of Sunday’s game earns the opportunity to represent the NFC North in the playoffs.
Rodgers hasn’t played since he broke his collarbone against the Bears on Nov. 4.
Without Rodgers, the Packers are 2-5-1 under a collection of quarterbacks this season. He’s been practicing on a limited basis for the past four weeks.

Wasn't it Hub earlier this week that said without a doubt that Rodgers will miss this game too? It was somebody on the Score. Said with 100% conviction that his bone was still another 4+ weeks away from being healed. Im like 80% sure it was Hub.

The NFL seems to be crazier this year than any. Win on Sunday and any team has a chance. There is no team in the AFC or NFC without weaknesses.

The Bears or Packers are going to get a home playoff game. SF would be tough, but I do not see the Panthers, Saints, or Cardinals being very good outdoors in the midwest in January.

As much as everyone complains about Capers, the special teams coordinator for the Packers is just plain awful. He was just saved by that strange rule surrounding the batted forward ball but my God they stink!!!

From what I read earlier, which admittedly wasn't a whole hell of a lot, he can't really fuck his career up even if it re-breaks. He'll just have to have surgery and he should still be ready for next year.

This clearly is different than a guy going out there and playing at less than 100% with a sore knee or something like that. If there are higher than normal chances Rodgers can't take a hit on the left side, or cannot hit the ground with his left side without causing more harm to that shoulder, he really shouldn't be playing. He is without question one of the best two or three QBs in the game right now, and if a normal hit could cause him to have a serious injury or undergo surgery than the Packers are doing themselves a huge disservice in letting him go out there and play. Being that its Packers and Bears on Sunday is irrelevant in my eyes.

Seattle and SF are still almost certainly better than GB even with a healthy Rodgers. SF has proven that pretty convincingly in the past 12 months. And Seattle is definitely better than SF. It really wouldn't shock me if any NFC playoff team won the conference, but it's extremely unlikely that the Bears or Packers do. But the Giants aren't in, so there's a chance.
