Thought the Texans were all-in on Josh McCown being their next head coach. Setting Lovie up to fail for a few years and accrue draft talent and then fire the black coach when the roster's stacked with talent and hire McCown.

They appeared afraid of being judged for hiring the guy they loved. They waited for about 5 weeks to call Lovie and ask him if he was okay with taking millions for guaranteed failure. I wish I got those types of calls.

Rodgers to Arizona would be interesting. Murray is good, but he's like a 3rd tier quarterback. It's not Love, but I would be okay with that.

There are a lot of great fuckin situations Rodgers can go to (tampa, SF, Pitts, etc.).

He just needs to leave GB.

Byron Allen interested in buying the Broncos.

Ari Meirov
@MySportsUpdate

Media mogul Byron Allen told
@business
that he is preparing a bid to buy the #Broncos. A successful bid would make him the first Black majority owner of an NFL team.

Allen says Roger Goodell and Robert Kraft told him 2019 to look into buying a team and he's ready to do it now.

Same. He's accomplished a ton as a business man though. Maybe Fran Tarkenton will get hired as VP of Football.

I’d be surprised if he had the juice to get that done in a city like Denver.

I like the Fran Tarkenton reference, although that was a similar but different show (That’s Incredible).

Thanks for the correction. Those shows kind of run together for me now. I think John Davidson was on one as well.

Not enough to buy a team. Is it worth the $5 billion investment?

I’m assuming they want him to cobble together a group of investors and act as the public face of that group.

Given how desirable Denver has become, particularly for super wealthy CA tech people, I’d think they’re going to have an unreasonably large price tag.

Unless I had tech fuck you money, I'm not sure I would be willing to make a significant investment for any sports team. It feels like that bubble is going to pop in the next 20 years.

I would agree.
Advertising of any kind is maxed out. TV and Broadcast rights seem to hit their max. Most teams have new stadiums in place. No idea how they'd find more wealth / equity from what's there.

There was a Cathy Crosby that was easy on the eyes too. I think that was her name?

Cathy Lee Crosby was on That's Incredible. Sarah Purcell was the eye candy on Real People, and Skip Stephenson was the weird dude always creeping on her making everyone uncomfortable.

Supposedly Allen has a net worth of $450M. So he's not exactly at Rein$dorf/Cohen/Cuban levels. But he seems to know how to run a business.
