The Giants stupdity never stops, 3rd highest ever for the position and his career high for sacks in a year is 7

7 sacks is a lot for a DT. He’s an all pro at a key position. Those guys get paid.

Seems a very low return for the Vikings, Bears could have done that trade.

That's fine. I don't want anyone to kill Fields. Hopkins was fairly close to murdering Call of Duty on the sidelines last season.

If Poles was patient, he could have waited and signed Hopkins to pair with Moore, instead he gave up a valuable first for Claypool, who will be gone after next year. That pick could have been Joey Porter Jr.

Hopkins has options. I doubt someone his age is looking to team up with a passer who is worse than Call of Duty.

Maybe. He could also be looking for the biggest(last) payday

And if he had done those moves you would be bitching about him taking so long and letting others make moves around him and then about how stupid it is to draft someone with a Jr in their name

The bigger question would be if he would choose to play for the worst throwing offense in the league last year by a wide margin.

He would be a great option for the Ravens, Lions, Vikings, or the Bills.

I'm assuming they will be much better this year. If not Caleb Williams will be a Bear

He put out a list of quarterbacks he wanted to play for a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, Fields and Call of Duty weren't on the list.

That's not a great pitch to a WR as he approaches what may very well be his last team based on his age.

The only WRs who fit in this offense are former tackles who want to play wr.

Money(still the most cap space in the NFL) is also a great pitch. They could have also offered something like a conditional 6th/7th for Hopkins too. I guess it matters how much you wanted that pick back for the rental and malcontent Claypool.

He's a good blocking receiver. Moore and Claypool are too. Mooney was a willing blocker, but I'm not sure what he'll be going forward. They clearly drafted his replacement.

I can't understand why Arizona cut Hopkins, they could have gotten atleast a 5th round pick maybe more. Now they have a dead cap hit of 22 mill.

Call of Duty runs the organization. Hopkins hated Call of Duty.

Still should have gotten something, C.O.D is a sunk cost, they should have drafted a QB.

Best landing spots for Hopkins
1. KC
2. BILLS
3. BROWNS
4. LIONS
5. RAVENS

Barkley threatened to hold out for the season, the balls 9n this guy.

I find it highly unlikely he will hold out an entire season, but I think he is going to find negotiations tough going forward. The Giants reportedly made him a multi-year offer during the bye week last year that he and his agent refused. So his talk of "disrespect" rings hollow to me. He was a top priority. The money they offered him back then is now spoken for in other ways so they can't even make him the same offer they made back then. Saquon is a great player, and by all accounts a great leader and teammate, but he should be careful with the "disrespect" talk. Fans get tired of hearing that from athletes making 8-figure salaries. And from what I am seeing and reading, I don't think Schoen and Daboll are interested in trying to build an RB-dominated offense. I hope he signs his franchise tag soon or that the giants find a creative way to keep him around a couple years, but I think the ship has sailed on a multi-year lucrative contract for him. Its too bad because i think he'd really like to be a Giant for his entire career.

I agree with most of that but the disrespect stuff is totally legit within the universe of football salaries. If we're measuring NFL salaries against average fan salaries then even 600k per year could cause fans to "tire" because 600k is 158% more than the median income of around $70k per year, so perhaps Barkley should be happy with 600k using that logic. Barkley probably considers himself to be in a certain class which I guess includes people like Henry and McCaffery, so if he's not getting paid like people in that class get paid then he's going to feel "disrespected." Whether he's really in that club or not I don't know, but he probably sees himself as belonging to that club.

Saquon is a great player, I hope they work it out, but this team has a lot of needs that need to be addressed. He didn't get tagged out of "disrespect".

He may be a tier below but he's still in that club, so $600K is an insult. Also, anyone who compares a pro athlete's salary to theirs is an idiot - particularly an NFL RB where their career lasts < 3 years on average.

Adrian Amos, come one down, you are the next former Packer to join the Jets.
