I went back to articles from the extension signing time period. Not sure how this works, but I assume he earns those guarantees?

“The Denver Broncos and quarterback Russell Wilson have agreed on a five-year, $245m extension that includes $165m in guarantees, according to multiple sources.”

Yep. He has his final $39M guaranteed next season. It's like MLB where guaranteed money has offset language if you are released.

Also, $50M was a signing bonus which resulted in a $10M hit thru 2026.

I think their punter's even worse. His 8 yd punt against the Saints almost cost Rams the W.

It clearly was DJ Moore.

Are you sure? His individual numbers were great but the defense was the main reason the Bears were in games and won games.

Johnson missed 3 of the games during the defensive turn around

If anything, it was attributable to Sweat

Sweat was the guy who made everybody better on defense.

We didn't have an offensive player like that, though DJ Moore is terrific and likely underrated across the league.

I feel like it is a problem when your QB is not your MVP. But I digress. SF is in the Super Bowl though.

They're gonna switch back to Redskins. Nobody, not even blood-thirsty first nation aboriginal native americans could stand Redskins owner Dan Snyder.

While Josh Harris' group's early reviews as Washington owners aren't great, at least he's/they're not Dan Snyder.

They'll work out a licensing deal with some obscure, 3 person Native American tribe for gratis season tickets and a photo op at the new stadium ground-breaking. That way when people complain about the resumed Redskins name in the future, the Redskins owner(s) can object that getting rid of the name would be taking food, or at least complimentary upper bowl seats, away from actual Native Americans.

Chief Leaford Bearskin of the American remnants of the Huron tribe and his counterpart across the river in Kanaydia are still working to cut a deal with Eastern Michigan University to restore the Hurons nickname from the truly awful mundane Eastern Michigan University Eagles; which maybe that's why Eastern Michigan went with Eagles and the Redskins the Coammanders: ass-fucked team names that beg to be changed back.

Eastern Michigan University when they selected Eagles to replace Huron didn't even have Eastern Michigan University EMUs as a finalist: Green Hornets, Eastern Express and Eastern Eagles were the ones they came up with.

If Florida state can keep the Seminole name, do the tomahawk chop during games and have various Native American types (possibly portrayed by Italian-Americans, who knows) seminoling out on horseback and whatnot during games, any sports team should be able to figure it out.

I'm definitely down with the idea that you have to rethink MVP awards in the NFL. It's just stupid to group guys who touch the ball every single play (QB) with guys who don't (everyone else) and then judge who was the most "valuable". Obviously the stats are gonna skew toward those who had the ball more often. Split the award into best QB and then a separate one for best skill player. It's just a really dumb award currently.

i think that's why they have a separate award for Offensive Player of the Year; but that also becomes arbitrary. I mean, who comes up with the most slurs in a year...that's hard to tally.
