Apparently Hamlin can't speak yet but can write. He asked if the Bills won Monday's game.

Joe Mixon seems displeased with the way Goodell chose to handle this…

Bengals definitely getting the worst "deal" in all of this. The can fix most of it by winning sunday. But if they lose sunday, the cancelled game could become a loss for them, based on the results of a coin flip.

All that is incidental though. A man almost died. If the Bengals or any other team gets screwed because of it , oh well .

I guess the only way to make it fair is to resume the game. They're not doing that. I assume logistics is why. But you have a few off weeks built in so I was kinda hoping a resumption would happen.

How the fuck did the Bengals get screwed? The cancellation automatically gave them the AFC North title. They got 4 losses and the Bills aren't likely losing to the Patriots and the Chiefs aren't likely losing to the Raiders, they had little shot at the #1 or #2 seed.

They had a path to 1. As it stands, they’ll likely be 3 and play the 6 seed (probably Baltimore).

More importantly, the winning percentage thing they’ve decided makes Cincy the division winner today. It’s already over. However, they play Baltimore this week and if they lose, the Ravens would have swept the season series. If that were the case AND Cincy had lost to the Bills, Baltimore would’ve won the division by tie breaker.

Because of that, if Cincy loses, it’ll “win” the AFC North under Goodell’s decision. Assuming seeding remains the same, they then have to have a literal coin flip to decide whether it gets a home playoff game.

So in 2 weeks they went from an outside shot at a bye and home field throughout to the potential of zero home playoff games despite winning their division.

They also had a path to lose the AFC North to the Ravens and the cancellation eliminated that for them.

But he didn't die. Guy almost died at my work. Had a heart attack. They said, nothing to see here, get back to work. Another time, a guy working beside me passed out and we had to carry him to a supervisors office. Again, nothing to see here, get back to work. The employees at this company work with heavy machinery that can kill them if they are not careful. Tired of the excuses that they could not make up the game later in the week. Total bullshit.

Maybe, but seems a little screwed up that they have been declared the North champions, and the 3 seed. But, if they lose Sunday, and the Ravens finish the 6th seed, a coin flip determines where the game is played. "Winning the North" won't mean much if the game is in Baltimore.

In the end, as a Steelers fan, I don't like either team....

Kind of? At worst, they get a coin flip where maybe they shouldn’t have had one.

But they don’t get to play games to figure that out.

Go back out there and participate in the same activity that just caused a guy's heart to stop beating. Who cares if your head's not in the right place. Go run full speed into a 6'4" 300lbs man who is trying to move you against your will. You'll be fine. Totally the same.

Ultimately it’s just sports, so nothing really matters. It’s indisputable that the NFL has rules in place to address this type of situation that they’re just choosing to ignore.

Can you imagine the reaction if some other contest just ignored rules on the fly and totally changed the way it was conducted in response to some unforeseen event?

Let's see if we can work abortion into this thread as well. Given enough time I'm certain we can.

Do you guys actually enjoy sports? This is a consequential decision in the biggest league in the country and you’re angry people are talking about it?

I’ve been wondering the same thing about the people complaining about this now. Afaik, no one here is a Cleveland, Buffalo or Kansas City fan, but are crying about fairness? Why? Dumbass fantasy football? Gambling? It’s one game no one here has a vested interest in, but all this whining and bs comparisons?

That the same crowd seems to be snarky about the ex players upset about this is telling though and it’s quite sad.
