There’s zero chance he didn’t know about that. Hell, he stayed in the final regular season game to get Gronk his bonus. They all know where they stand if money is involved.

I think he knows it is poor form to announce it right before the Championship round. He will wait until Wednesday or Thursday and have a press conference in the doldrums before Super Bowl week.

It would be a horrible look for Brady to do this.

If he announced this before the voting was over, he'd have been guaranteed the MVP.

And little Aaron would be fuming in the corner.

Based solely on statistics, he should be guaranteed the MVP. It's embarrassing how much weight they give to a player who intentionally avoids risk so he won't throw interceptions.

As time goes on I feel worse and worse about putting him on the same level as Dan Marino.

Marino was a red ass but at least he was honest.

We call him the GOAT, but I'd still like to see how he woulda fared in the 80s and 90s.

I agree, but based on his comments today, that he is "day to day," I think there is a distinct possibility he's waiting until the money is in the bank and then Tampa would be forced to claw back the money -- and he's probably counting on them not wanting to take the PR hit.

It is not a bonus, it is deferred money from this season.

Rodgers ------– Stat ------– Brady
68.9 – Completion Percentage – 67.5
7.75 – Yards Per Attempt – 7.39
7.0 – Touchdown Percentage – 6.0
0.8 – Interception Percentage – 1.7
9.25 – TD/INT Radio – 3.58
111.9 – Passer Rating – 102.1

The Stats in which Brady tops Rodgers were based on volume. Give Rodgers the same number of attempts as Brady, and Rodgers would have thrown for 5,572 yards (Brady 5,316) and 50 touchdowns (Brady 43) and beaten Brady’s completions record with 494 (Brady 485).

Rodgers also played with far better running backs and the best WR in football. Why should anyone credit Rodgers for what he hypothetically could have produced? Fact is, he didn't. A nearly 50 year old man did.

Why should Brady get credit for being nearly 50 yrs old or for having a less balanced offense? He also had better overall receiving options…by far.

Brady will be starting for either the Forty-Niners of Santa Clara California or the Paradise Nevada Raiders. Leaving money on the table and fake retiring is his way of getting out of the final year of his Bucs contract.

They're not used to having dude around 24/7. They'll tire of his omnipresence right quick.

Give it til July and Gisele will be making the calls to Mark Davis and Eddie DeBartolo herself to get Brady out the house.

Is that really the case? I thought the bonus was based on completing the entire contract. I don't think Tampa will be giving him $15m now that he is ending the deal. I could be wrong.

It's cheaper to leave her and continue winning. I'm disappointed Brady doesn't have a HoF pimp hand.

I'm a little disappointed too. He should go the Ali and Mays route. Make them kick him out of football.

that's kinda my feel. Not sure he's really getting along with his head coach in Tampa.

I have a hard time believing that he will be officially retiring prior to the Super Bowl. He can announce it on twitter but the season isn't even over so it's hard to believe he wouldn't receive the signing bonus set to be paid out during this season.

Technically, the Bucs can go after him for the signing bonus no matter what he does because he didn't finish the contract but that is normally done as a way to punish a malcontent that the team had to cut.
