Gaze upon the beauty that I create.

Ted Phillips was wrong on two counts: he said grass was safer for impact injuries and that somehow the grass gave the Bears a competitive advantage (wtf?). However, he may end up accidentally looking smart as growing evidence suggests that the chemicals in the crumbled rubber may cause long-term health issues. So just like his current job, he fell into the right answer!

I think the Vikings missed out on a pretty huge late season home field advantage by not having an outdoor stadium.

Seattle wanted no part of an undermanned Vikings in the playoffs last year.

works out fine for the bear, another dome team to lose in the cold if the home game is scheduled in november/december that year

I think its going to look pretty ugly on TV.

I forgot about that.

I do think Bridgewater is a dome type of QB.

It's a rendition, so who knows? They say shadows won't be a problem.

John Larson – What can you do to get rid of shadowing on the field?

Shadowing will exist but we expect it to be very minimal. Along with the ETFE defusing sunlight, the steel support structure underneath the ETFE is much smaller and lighter than large trusses that span the length of the stadium, causing smaller shadows. HKS has prepared sun studies to better understand this issue. It is an important one for all parties, and we are confident shadows will not be an issue for players or fans.

I don't think MN ever gets that much sunshine anyway.

Looks okay, I guess, but it was a terrible deal for the taxpayers to replace the Metrodome with three different venues. Vikings and Gophers should have shared a stadium permanently; neither one justifies its own building with so few dates. Isn't the Target Center getting some free money for renovations, too?

My sister's MIL lives in MSP and she sure pitched a fit about the taxpayers having to fund all this. She would have rather had the Vikings move. Can't say I blame her. Broke cities with crumbling infrastructure and bad schools paying for stadiums for rich owners seems out of whack.

Dirty little secret of the Twin Cities is that half the people up there are Packers fans. Lots of Minnesotans were Packers fans before the Vikings were established/got good and passed it down through generations, plus the Cities are a major destination for Wisconsin's brain drain. Combine that with the fact that all the Vikings do is kick their fans in the dick really hard every year and it's no wonder people would have wanted them to go. I'm surprised more people don't have a laissez-faire attitude toward letting the Bears leave.

This. It really seems like one of the few things Mark Dayton kind of screwed the pooch on.

The Twin Cities are very close to Wisconsin also. It's less than 40 minutes to Wisconsin from Minneapolis.

Everybody liked to talk smack about the Metrodome, but it was the most versatile stadium in sports. It was the only stadium that hosted the World Series, the Super Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, the Twins, the Vikings, the Gophers, Monster Jam and Snowcross.

That's true about too many stadiums in Minnesota. They have the Target Center (Twolves), TCF Bank Field (Gophers Football), the Xcel Energy Center (Wild), Target Field (Twins), Mariucci Arena (Gophers Hockey), Williams Arena (Gophers Basketball) and U.S. Bank Stadium (Vikings).
