I really hate these stories.

I know the players association would be against it and people would scream PATRIMONY but the league really should have a program that sets aside a percentage of each players contract to be managed and distributed by a trustee.

NFL PATRIMONY starts with their use of the f-ing NCAA and all of its attendant bs. But ultimately, you can't save someone from themselves.

The trustee would have an obligation to the trust not to denude it by issuing checks for frivolous items.
