He is not even dressing for the first game and the third string qb will be the punter.

In all seriousness, this is probably smart by the Rams though. If he isn't ready you don't want to destroy him.

It's not like they can make him the backup. He would have to be ready to play if that were the case.

No. He just isn't ready to even be on the field as the emergency QB.

The NEW Los Angeles Ram: same as the OLD Los Angeles Rams!

if teddy bridgewater hadn't gotten injured, the Rams could've traded Goff and next year's first round pick to the Eagles for Sam Bradford and had a competent back up.

Wasn't McShay, or Kiper, or both saying right before April the top 2 QBs in the draft this year would have been graded as 3rd round or lower the year before?

Jeff Fisher extended. They want him to be there for the quarterback they draft in round one next year.

If you watched Hard Knocks you know Goff couldn't play in week 1. Coach gave him the play call and he didn't know what to do for the play. The idiot also didn't know where the sun rises.

Can't have a league if Guppy isn't coaching.

He's making 7 million a year!

This is absolutely hilarious. He's going to end up with more losses than any coach in NFL history and will still get jobs because his mustache evidently suggests he knows a lot about football.

I heard Jeff Fischer on ESPN this morning. Absolute drivel, even for him.

I don't get how he has a job. You do not draft a QB #1 overall and sit them half the season.

This isn't a franchise interested in winning.

Name me the last QB drafted #1 overall that did well from sitting.

So 2003? He sat behind Jon Kitna who was not bad. IF he can learn from a vet, it might work. Is California even a prostyle team? USC is or was at the time.

Well, you limited it to #1 picks only. There are plenty of quarterbacks who didn't start right away who ended up pretty good.

Do you really think that missing out on your first 8 games of your career is going to hurt you?

Goff probably sucks but throwing him out there week 1 would not have made him better.

I think my point is, Goff is not good.

This kid might save my season.

I think he sucks too but that is more reason to not play him at the start of the season.

They have a couple 1st picks on that Oline(I believe), and pretty good RB. I would of played him. I think Fischer thinks he is some football God.

So... This guy might not be bad after all. Funny what happens when you have weapons around you on offense.

Idk why so many of us (myself included) put so much faith in Jeff Fischer's decision making. The guy was horribly overrated as a coach.
