Top two safeties still on the board at 14. Didn't expect that.

Too bad Pace doesn't have the draft picks left to trade up from 35.

The best safety went #6 to the Jets.

Stellar defensive draft and OAK needs defense.

I am stoked like an X-Gamer.

That's very reassuring. The only organization worse than the Bears.

Maybe Kevin Costner can make a sequel as GM of the Bears making horrible draft trades.

Bonus - It's a true story.

The Bears are nearing the point where it not be unwise to trade a 2018 first for one of these picks coming up here. Howard and even Allen are probably worth it at this point.

I sure hope he is still there for the Lions at #21.

Allen might be worth it but they already traded their picks.

I love Howard but they could still get Shaheen if they have any picks left.

The Bears pick will be top 3 again next year. Are you drinking with Dr. ken?

The Bears will probably not be picking top 3 in 2018. They did more than any other team in the NFL this offseason to improve the most important position on the field, added a few OK-ish free agents, will almost undoubtedly be healthier next year and only lost one player of consequence (a past-his-prime Alshon Jeffery who they are likely better off without).

Alshon Jeffery is 27 and was clearly their best receiver. Past his prime? Are you high?

Ebron was three years ago. He has one year left on his deal.

With Howard off the board, I hope the Lions get him. They need a playmaker on offense.

Their best receiver last year was clearly Cam Meredith.

Its not uncommon at all for NFL players to have the injuries pile up or lose a step in their mid-20's. Jeffery looked terrible last year even when he did manage to get on the field (which wasn't often). Bears were not going to gain anything by giving him the prove-it deal he got from Philadelphia.

There goes Howard.

I'm not really sure...the NFL has moved on from the 2TE trend (not entirely, but its an en vogue as it was a few years ago).

If the Lions go defense, they better get Foster or Charlton.

Also - how did they improve the most important position on the field? Assuming you mean QB, they replaced the franchise leader in pretty much every category for the Tampa back-up. I'm not claiming Cutler was great but I don't see Glennon as an improvement.

They added the best FA QB available and spent the #2 overall pick on a QB. That's a lot, much more than any other team has done.
