Kap had a job, he opted out.. There is no two sides.. His dumb ass was guaranteed 13 million this year from SF.. He thought he could do better, he thought wrong.

Yeah, and NFL teams don't exchange "formal offers" with players until midnight on the first day they are allowed to be signed. I'm fine with that though. It actually helps me if the Seahawks "passed on him because he is too good at football".

Why wouldn't they trust that Carroll was correct that he was too good to sign if you have a guy you want to be the starter? Would they bring him in for a workout hoping that he sucks enough to be a backup? Do you understand how absurd that is?

Which was well before the time Kaepernick worked out for them. Glad you agree that the offer you've been hypothesizing about Kaepernick hypothetically pricing himself out of didn't actually exist!

Because not every NFL team is equally committed to their starter and also because not every NFL team has the same locker room divide surrounding their current starter. And because generally the word of a coach for an ostensbile rival shouldn't be sufficient for your decision making.

I'd sign him in a second if he brought Harbaugh with him

The man who has said the smartest things on this topic of Kaepernick is Jim Brown. He said that Kaepernick needs to chose between being a political activist and a football player. So true. How many of us would get away with being a political activist at our employers, except Bernstein and his former lackey, Boers?

And the whole notion that he is being discriminated against is nonsense. There are six black quarterbacks starting in the NFL. Maybe teams think Kaepernick just isn't good enough to make the investment?

I'm tired of the affirmative action crap. No place for it, because it's favoritism based on race. You can't have equality for all and favoritism based on race in admissions and employment.

The mere notion that black people are being discriminated against in the NFL is the stupidest thing I ever heard.

What this is really about is going after our precious establishments by laying false guilt in the name of social justice.

Yep, I feel very comfortable with agreeing with Jim Brown on civil rights and racial issues.

I'd love to know what Bob Gibson thinks. Even though I hate the Cardinals, I loved watching Gibson pitch and reading his "as told to" autobiography when I was a 4th grader completely changed my view of my suburban world. My dad had a Loop business with a diverse employee and customer mix, but I didn't really hang out there consistently until after fifth grade.

Both Brown and Gibson are the straight up no-bullshit real deal that Kapernick will be lucky to achieve 1/10th of their accomplishments and respect. I still think this whole thing is a Garry Meier's wife type of deal, and that his girlfriend is angling for a spot on MSNBC or something similar.

I haven't noticed anyone really caring negatively about the other guys kneeling. They all still have jobs and the fans don't seem turned off by them. IMO this is about Kaep himself and not the cause. The guy was an unlikeable giant penis before all of this and that is a huge factor. He has always come off as a sneering, whiney brat. If he played any other position I think he would be in camp and people would probably not like him but he would have a camp roster spot at least. This is just a perfect combination of factors for teams to not want him.

1. unlikeable giant penis (whiney brat and does dumb shit like wearing the castro shirt)
2. plays qb
3. plays qb too poorly to start yet doesn't want backup salary
4. his strong suit as a qb is playing the read option which many teams don't employ and don't want to teach to the rest of the offense for a backup.

I think factors 3 and 4 with an influence of 1 are keeping him out of the league. If its just factor 1 he is in camp somewhere no doubt.

He might be better than Flacco. I was gonna post that as a joke but he's actually been abysmal.

Might as well sign him now. He's irrelevant after today.

I guess Rick thinks Bortles is a franchise QB now. Interesting.

Just doing the same types of superficial analysis that claims he should be starting somewhere.

Who cares if he kneels for the anthem now? Over a hundred players did yesterday. Sign him and win!

And the last successfully filed petition was by "Cubbie" great Dawson. But today I don't like his odds

Why is it always about the Cub for you?

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.

Better than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and a dozen other starters imo

You'd have to define good. He's not a "good" NFL starter, but he's much better than guys like Brett Hundley. He should have a spot on some roster.

We're having a discussion about sports and you go straight to Trumpet?

Trump and Cub on your mind all the time...what a pathetic existence that must be.
