I think he’s better than every announcer. I’m just pointing out how ridiculous it is to say he’s terrible. The Simms example was the easiest way to do that.

I agree Romo is good and has great details to share. Sometimes his over excited manner though comes off as forced or hokey.

Yeah, that's his only issue. He will be better next year, IMO.

Yup, that’s what my guy says too.

I'd rather having someone who spouts cliches but isn't actively annoying or intrusive in the way Romo is. "Calling out plays" is literally the only positive anyone ever mentions but I wouldn't want the national champion of NTN/Buzztime QB1 calling games either.

It’s not just calling out plays. He’s also great at talking situations, adjustments, coverages, etc. I guess if you prefer “I’ll tell you what, this guy really wants to win, Jim!” then yeah he’s not as good as some other announcers.

I simply don't find him particularly insightful in those areas compared to other commentators. I don't want guys spouting cliches but I find it far less annoying than Romo spazzing out about close plays or making sound effects. I don't particularly like Aikman but he's far less annoying to me and his own stupid moments are far easier to tune out (though I'll grant that may be a product of most of my rage being directed at his partner, possibly the worst PBP guy across all sports).

Romo is fine. He has his excitable moments and quirks, but he will get better. He is light years ahead of Phil Simms.

I REALLY hate to toot my own horn, but if you recall I was a very EARLY buyer of the Vikings Defense is a bit Overrated stock. They are getting run roughshod by a Nick Foles led offense.

So last week we had a 100-year old female Vikings fan; now Fox just showed a 99-year old male Eagles fan at the game. I'm rooting for the Vikings #MeToo

Run roughshod? They’ve allowed 7 points so far.

And they are allowing nearly 5 yards a carry to Blount/Ajayi. Your definition of "Great" is bizzare.

If that were Brady I wonder if that's an incomplete pass instead of a fumble

And if it were the Bears, they'd be showing Seacrest's Aunt Ginny. But that's not an option for a few years.
