There I said it. Aside from some spectacular plays from the former Bear and Gronk, the game was a defensive fiasco, even on simple running plays. Two weeks to prepare for one another, and not a single punt from either side the entire game. I think the NFL decided that a high scoring shootout was in their best interest, so that was how it was scripted. You couldn't possibly call this actual football, more like WWE entertainment. When people over the next days and weeks consider this game critically, this will be the conclusion they come to. Sad day for the NFL and for professional sports in general.

Does this mean you are done being a fan of the NFL and done posting about it?

Because that would be a glorious day

why does the rube mult exist? Someone here wants to share terrible takes that aren't funny or directed at other board members.... it's just constant terrible sports takes, so bad that you cant possibly believe it's a real person's actual thoughts.

There was one punt by the Eagles.

If you think that EVERY player and coach would keep quiet about the league telling them to purposely play poor defense... I don't know what to tell you. Most of the players hate the league, why would the losing team go along with a strategy that was going to result in them NOT winning the SB?

Exactly.

The Patriots win and the Refs are on their side and trying to fix things.

The Patriots lose and things are fixed.

Terrible.

There were 2 questionable touchdowns by the Eagles.

The first one was questionable. The second one was not. He was pretty clearly a runner by the time he was touched. Two steps(and a third while being tripped), turning, and reaching the ball out.

I was surprised the first one wasn't overturned. Seemed like he was bobbling it.

Brady would have found a way to screw it up at the end though.

I was shocked at that fumble. I just assumed with a couple minutes left that Brady would Brady and that would be the end of it. A strip sack just didn't seem in the realm of possibility.

The sack fumble was a big surprise. The terrible return was worse.

Agreed. He may have held the ball too long.

Patriots have a shot at the Super Bowl every year is because their division is bad.

Another bad mult. You have to win playoff games to make it to the Super Bowl and I am pretty sure those teams are not bad.

Patriots dynasty started on a Brady fumble and now ended on a Brady fumble.

Lousy division=automatic 6-0=playoff bye=home field advantage=very good odds of making the Super Bowl.

The Patriots have only had 1 blowout in 8 Super Bowls. Most of the Patriots Super Bowls were one possession games.

If the Patriots had the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals in their division there is no way they make 8 Super Bowls.

Horrible logic.

You do realize they have had to beat those teams in the playoffs

If what he is trying to say is the Patriots don't even make the playoffs all those times or at best get wildcards playing in the Steeler's division I agree. Whether these days or in the past during the Lovie era look how that division beats itself.

Are you not considering the records of the Steelers, Ravens and sometimes the Bengals over that 10 year or so span? All I am saying if the Pats were in that division the MAY not have won as many SBs or had as many post season chances. Is it that outlandish?

Ironically, the Bears played that division this year and finished 4-0.

Bears >>> Patriots.

Not outlandish, just seems like a silly thing to consider. Like saying if the Bulls were in the Western Conf they might not have 6 NBA titles.....sure maybe...but nothing concrete.
