Really hurts McCarthy's perception around the league. Front offices are now going to ask themselves what was so pressing that he had to be gone? I thought he'd land on his feet in a new NFL gig. No longer, he may find himself at NCAA. |

I believe by firing McCarthy now and giving Philben the "interim" tag the Packers can officially start interviewing available former NFL coaches and college coaches that are becoming available. They might be even starting the back channeling on the John Harbaugh stuff too. |
