UK and Ireland is six hours ahead. Continental Europe is seven.

The UK starts and ends daylight saving times like a week off from the US, so there’s a week it’s different, but yeah, 6 hours.

Ours in NZ started on Sunday but the USA doesn't end until November. Its really quite confusing and I wish they'd bin the whole thing.

We need the daylight/standard switch on the edges of time zones like Chicago and Boston or else everything gets super-weird or outright dangerous around the solstices.

Everything from Lisbon to Budapest (incl Scandinavia) runs on the same time zone and they're mostly further north than Chicago. In the case of Scandinavia waaayyy further north than Chicago.

In a perfect world we'd just adopt UTC but that's frankly impossible.
