McCarthy is not my boy. I am just not that high on Zimmer. Zimmer is Marvin Lewis to me. Going to be somewhere a long time it seems and have nothing to show for it. McCarthy at least has a superbowl for his resume.

.599 and .518 winning percentage is a huge difference, and Zimmer has won a playoff game. By almost any criteria you can find Zimmer's coaching results are far better than Lewis. They aren't even in the same conversation.

Zimmer would have about 3-4 titles if he had Rodgers for a decade. He made it to the NFCCG with Case Keenum for fucks sake

It's not a crazy statement at all. Rodgers was close in 2014 and 2016 with one of the worst coaches in the NFL at the helm. Give him a very good coach instead of a glorified water boy and he would have been able to do a lot more. This is a pretty commonly held viewpoint nationally, it's not "crazy" or being a homer to point it out.

For the record if Brees had Zimmer instead of Payton he very likely has multiple trophies by now too. And I think Payton is actually at least a league average coach unlike McCarthy

Come on man, no one is saying Cousins or Case were as good as Rodgers in their prime.

There is no way you can say that they would have won 3 or 4 titles, it is really hard to win titles.

You are high on Zimmer and he very well maybe a better coach than McCarthy, but to say it would be a lock for them to 3 or 4 titles with Rodgers is just silly. McCarthy and Zimmer are not that far away from each other to equal 3 or 4 titles.

I never said it was easy to win or make it to a Super Bowl.

I said it becomes that much easier when you have two of the top 5-10 QBs to ever have played the game suit up for you over the course of twenty years. At least Favre made it back to the SB the year after winning it. The closest Rodgers has come since is getting blown out in two conference title games.

Clearly looking at Fox after his time in Chicago things have changed, but when he was brought in his resume was pretty good, so it is not like I was going way out on a limb thinking Fox was a better coach than Zimmer.

I just looked into this trade again after reading that David Johnson was just signed as a free agent somewhere. I assume it's the same Johnson we all know.

It's not like Hopkins has propelled Arizona to heights we've never see before, but in terms of value for value is this one of the worst trades ever? Seems like the board and the whole universe hated the deal and the data since then just confirms it. What a horrible deal. I've read the Texans traded the second rounder they got in the deal and converted the fourth rounder into other picks. And we know how Johnson turned out. So they basically traded a prime Hopkins for a couple mid rounders. He was worth so much more. I still can't believe this trade even took place.
