There’s a reason rookie QBs used to sit and learn. They just aren’t ready. I know some would argue that they learn quicker by playing and that’s fine, but don’t be surprised when they suck.

Most QB's that are drafted in the first round don't make it in NFL, period. The Watson/Mahomes draft was a rarity.

if you look through the recent history of NFL drafts, the over/under on successful, long-term franchise QB's coming out of an individual draft would be about 0.5. Many drafts have 0 QB's succeed. Max is maybe 2 out of an individual draft. It's likely you're only going to get Mac Jones and one of Lawrence/Lance as successful long-term NFL QB's out of the 2021 draft class--and maybe not even Mac Jones. Odds are Mills/Wilson/Fields will not rise up out of the basement of quarterbacks where they currently reside and catch on as long-term, franchise QB's. And the guys who do succeed--Russell Wilson, Dak, Lamar, et al--succeed from the get.

As Romo was pointing out yesterday, the recent changes in defense makes rookie success unlikely unless you are a freak athlete or you have the best WR in the game or a great offensive line. I think this class will have a couple franchise quarterbacks and a couple of long-term starters. None of these guys look like franchise quarterbacks. Lance actually looks like the worst to me.
