Damn that’s a weak list. Hester might be the most significant out of that bunch, hopefully he gets in.

Back in the day, I remember rival Deion Sanders being asked about LeROY Butler and he responded, "it's LEEroy...he only changed it to LeROY when he got some money."

I’d put Steve Smith (SR!) in over any of those WRs just because he was a badass.

Seems like kind of a weak class. Hester may have a shot here.

The seniors candidate is Cliff Branch, whom I hope gets in. With today's rules, Branch wouldn't have needed stickum to completely destroy defensive backs.

Andre Johnson and that's it. The rest were high average at best.

I think that Johnson may have some trouble because of where he played.

There's a lot to that unfortunately.

Devin Hester should get in. I honestly think he's more deserving than Biran Urlacher.

I don’t see anyone more deserving than Hester on that list. Possibly one of the shittiest HOF lists I have ever seen. The fact that the NFL changed the kickoff to limit his returns makes him an automatic for me.

If you’re the inarguably the best at a position it’s a pretty easy case to be made that you should be in the HoF. Not taking about best pulling center or best 2nd down blitzer from the left side, best kick returner ever is a real thing.

You are right KD, but it took a long time for Ray Guy to get in.

Hester will get there eventually, it may not be this year though.

Looking at this list? I think he gets in now. He’s most likely one of the most universally recognized players on the list and I actually think that helps him this time around. No one will argue Hester not being deserving (for the most part), and no one should mind if he bumps someone off from this list in order to get him in.

Some good players on this list, but almost none -outside of Hester- are brand names

Agreed...if he doesn't get in now, it will get progressively harder.

sorry, but Devin Hester is not a HoF'er.

if for nothing else, he didnt play that long, and in a position that is not that physically taxing.

Hester isn't anywhere near the best return guy. He couldn't hold Deion Sander's jock.

Sanders was nowhere close to Hester as a return man and I’m pretty sure he’s publicly said as much (which says a lot given who we’re talking about).

Hester averaged more yards per kick and punt return than Deion. That seems like a pretty good metric for jock holding. Bad take.

How high were you when you posted this? I think Hester had 20 total return td... sanders maybe 12? And Hester had more yards per return too I think.

Deion literally said Hester is the best returner ever.

In retirement Deion has been fairly generous with his compliments. But that doesn't mean I have to take him at his word there.

I really don't get why the NFL has pretty much eliminated the kickoff return, which is one of the most exciting plays. I'm not buying that it creates more injuries than other plays...if anything, punt returns are more dangerous and those are still happening (for now). And some of the newer rules are just plain nonsense, like no running starts for the kicking team...as if these guys aren't at full speed within 5 yards of the starting point anyway.

Only in Chicago is this an issue. Meatbally Chicago.

Not to mention that it was a big way many guys on the bubble made rosters. (Terrell Davis comes to mind)
