I guess he wanted to go out playing at a high level. In hindsight, the extension he signed was a sign that he was going to retire. He just gave the Bucs room to "run it back". He had one of the best seasons of his career and the Green Bay Choker will win MVP. Sad!.

He's trying to maneuver his way to the Niners. Maybe if he "retires" and the Bucs sort out a replacement QB between now and training camp Brady can unretire and play a final season in San Francisco and the Bucs won't hold him to the final year of his deal with them.
