Watching the documentary on peacock about him.

Dude was amazing. Was my favorite non Bear player back in the 80s. So easy to forget just how good he was.

Brady maybe the GOAT, but Montana is not far behind.

Should have been a Chicago Bear. Finks had him on his radar but waited a round too late.

He was on my list as Greatest QB ever until a few years ago when I had to give that honor to Brady.

The Bears would have ruined him, like they have with your boyfriend Justin Fields.

I remember seeing a photo of Montana, Steve Young, and Steve Bono coming off the field after a practice, and thinking how nice it would have been to have that as your depth chart.

I wasn't really a fan, but I still think he was the best I ever watched.

One of the things that really stood out to me was how mobile he was and how accurate on the move. The throws you see Mahomes making outside of the pocket Montana was making back then.

If you had one game to win I think you would be hard pressed to find a better QB to have on your side.

I love Joe Montana. My favorite story is the Super Bowl winning drive to John Taylor when he got in the huddle and looked to the sidelines and said "hey, is that John Candy?" and the team relaxed and drove right down the field.

Doc you should check out this documentary. It is really good.

I didnt realize all the hurdles he had to overcome in high school and college just to get on the field.

Mods please delete this thread.

The disrespect of Brady is off the charts. Montana was a fine quarterback before free agency was established in the NFL. Montana never won a Super Bowl after free agency went into effect. Brady almost has double the number of Super Bowls Montana has. Despite never coming close to having similar offensive weapons or the most brilliant offensive mind in modern NFL history.

I literally said in this thread that Brady was the GOAT. I love Brady.

But man Montana was great too.

I’m still sticking with Montana as the best I ever watched. I’m not going to make an argument against Brady though because I can’t.

Ultimate system QB. 49ers offense in the 80's into the early 90's would be like if Golden State not only started shooting more 3's
than everyone else in 2012 but were the only team in the league allowed to score 3 on that shot.

It's not my fault that MANY ignore the fact that Montana greatly benefited from the slavery system and like a true patriot, Brady has had UNPRECEDENTED success in the era of free agency.

He behaved for 1 season and Brady put up video game numbers and went 18-0. He's nowhere near as good as Rice, but imagine if Brady had a well behaved Moss for 5 or 6 years? They would have needed to change the rules to stop Brady from winning so much.

Pardon Nas. He gets in these cycles where he wants to take dumb stances on things. We have seen in recently with his thoughts on TV shows and now here. It is sad, but I think maybe the weather does it to him.

I say a few nice words about Brady and grandpas start attacking me. Sad!

Did Montana win a Super Bowl after free agency? Did Brady ever have a player as great as Rice to throw the ball to for more than 1 year? Did Brady ever play for a coach who was on the same planet as Walsh when it comes to offense? Has Brady won 7 Super Bowls in the free agency era?

Again, I love Brady as well. He is the GOAT.

But that does not take away from the greatness of Montana.

And, let's not forget Montana won 2 superbowls without Rice.

Montana also broke his back in 86 and had to fight his way back. The doctors said his career was over but he fought his way back from that injury and won 2 more SBs.

Brady had someone take his knee out the season after he went 18-0.

I was an Elway guy as a kid. I was also a Harbaugh fan.

Brady wouldn't tolerate you slagging his hero.

For shame.
