Fields and Lawrence will be the only viable QBs out of this draft. It looks like the original rankings, months prior to the 2021 draft were correct with Fields/Lawrence being the top 2 QB's in the draft with the rest just fodder, so the good news is the Bears got lucky with Fields falling a bit, even if they had to pay two 1sts to get him.

Pretty sure Lawrence has locked up the "best QB so far from the 2021 class" award. Showing individual progress AND winning some games. To be fair to Fields, Lawrence's weapons are three levels more advanced than what Fields has, and the guys on Jacksonville aren't even that great. They're average.

Trevor Lawrence has played well 5 of the last 6 weeks. I'm not ready to crown him yet. Even with Fatt Patricia calling the plays, Mac Jones has only fallen to 2nd in his class statistically. If Mac Jones died tomorrow, it would likely take Justin Fields more than a season to pass him in career passing yards.

Is he better than Mooney? Parkins claimed Mooney was on the verge of becoming a legit #1 (which I laughed at) so it’s hard to know. With Mooney, Kmet, a number one running game, it’s hard to say the Bears were bereft of offensive talent compared to other average to mediocre teams.

Even getting a stud #1 might not make a difference. Look at Detroit all those years with Stafford a d Megatron. Endless losing and mediocrity.
