I did feel bad for him initially but then I remembered his early season comments where he threw Getsy under the bus for training him on "pocket stuff". Russ has a fascinating career. Surefire hall of famer to one of the worst trades in the history of pro sports inside of a few years.

I read a good write-up the other day on his early success. No idea if it’s true, but the upshot was that he came into the league at the time the RPO was ascendant. He had a ton of success with it given his athleticism. As he got older, he slowed down and the league defenses simultaneously caught up to the gimmicky offensive stuff. Height became a factor without the lines moving around and he relied on broken plays like a midget Justin Fields.
