Why not? Hold on to the football until the whistle blows.

The NFL rule Scorehead hates the most isn't actually an NFL rule.

The "ground can't cause a fumble" rule applies when a ball carrier is being tackled, not if he goes down on his own or trips over his own feet.
If the ball carrier is touched by an opposing player before the ball comes out, then it isn't a fumble.

Its a bad rule. Hold on to the fucking football regardless.

Yeah, Urlacher should be allowed to wear a Yellow Helmet & Pants & a green jersey everytime the Bears play against Green Bay.
I like this. That way Cutler can think he's throwing an INT to #54 and it won't hurt the Bears 8)

Moving Kickoffs to the 35 yard line has almost completely removed one of the most exciting aspects of football, the kickoff return.

This just happened against Gabe Carimi. 2nd man in a fight. Why can't they replay it to see the cheapshot by the first guy? It kind of reminds me of Wrasslin. Your worried about getting everything perfect with replay, why not get that simple call right?

Yes, let's extend a game plagued by commercials and down time to review which guy started it.

The call on the field stands. By rule, #72 was in fact glue and everything he said bounced off of #53 and stuck to him. Still 2nd down.

Agreed.

Dont even need a review. Guy in booth can just call down and say what happened

Or players can be smart and instead of hitting back just wait until the next play to knock somebody on their ass.

This is how all challenges should be reviewed. There should be a guy upstairs, or the league office that can make a decision very quickly, and have all possible camera angles at his disposal. Challenges really slow the game down. The more the NFL tries to make things right, the more boring the game becomes IMO.

OR.... the second guy doesnt do something stupid in retaliation.

Why not have the booth review every missed holding penalty?

Douchebag,
+100... Instant Replay is going crazy. Seems like the game is stopped every 3 plays or so for some bullshit.

I think you're overestimating the length it would add to a game.

They let Lovie challenge things that dont even benefit the team. So dont tell me about delays

Especially when Lovie calls a timeout, then uses a challenge.

You just advocated adding replay to see who started a scrum. WYC?

OK, so lets say it is done in 3 seconds. A ref throws a flag on the second guy and the booth immediately buzzes down and says the other player hit him first. DO they penalize both guys or just the first guy. What if the first guy just threw an elbow and the second guy shoved him to the ground?

It doesnt matter who started it, dont commit a stupid penalty.

I am in favor of how they do replays in college, have a guy upstairs look at the play and then relay it to the officials.

This is how the NFL originally ran replay back in the 80's. The way the NFL runs replay now takes more time, of course it means more of a chance to show commericals, which I think is an NFL priority.

My pet peeve is not a game rule, but how all NFL coaches dress alike. You used to see guys like Tom Landry or Dan Reeves or Ditka in suits, now all NFL coaches look like they are about to coach a JV high school team.

It is sort of a rule though. MIke Nolan wanted to wear a suit when he was coaching the niners and they said no. YOu have to wear licensed NFL apparel.

Jack del Rio wore suits a few years ago when he coached the Jags. I think it only lasted a season or perhaps less. His suit choices made him look like a lawyer settling an unpaid medical bill case outside of a court room in the hallways of the Daley Center.

Blocking someone who decides to not look where they are running.

Don't stand on the tracks when the train is coming though...

You can block them.

You cannot lead with your helmet and/or forearm and/or shoulder and lay them out. You can't do that even if they are looking straight at you either.

Cool.....

except he wasn't "blocking". Nobody, at any level, is taught to "block" with their shoulder against somebody's earhole. He was launching himself at an opponent's head for no reason. What sport allows that?

UFC does I think, but most of the time the 2 fighters are just dry humping eachother on the ground.

Why can't a team be penalized multiple times on a play? Earlier the Bears got 3 personal fouls during that Scrum, but only one is enforced. If I know a penalty has been committed, that gives anyone on that team free reign to take a shot at somebody. All penalties should be enforced, not one.

Players are allowed to leave the bench and join a fight in the NFL.
Sounds smart.

It looked like he was running over to pull his brother off, not fight. Still can't be allowed though.
