That's your sure thing in this draft if you can get him.

NFP has him going 23rd to Detroit. I don't think I want a 1st-round guard.

We have Chris Williams.

:puker: I can't tell if I was joking here. Sure, sure I was.

My irrational love of players based on vertical jump and shuttle drills this year belongs to -

Charles Sims, RB, West Virginia
6'0"/214

4.48 in the 40

Runs with some tightness and lacks natural bend. Sims is tough and physical but doesn't have an ideal body type for the position, running too tall at times with inconsistent pad level and ball security.

Sounds great! Sign me up. He's 4th-roundish.

That was a good call. Too bad he plays for the Bills.

We can't really waste one on a WR but, if we could - 3/4 rounder -

Donte Moncrief

6'2"
HEIGHT

32 3/8"
ARM LENGTH

221LBS.
WEIGHT

9 1/8"
HANDS

WR, Mississippi
4.40 in the 40

Needs to sharpen his route running. Inconsistent ball reactions, particularly in traffic -- better running through or under passes. Does not always play to his size -- gets outmuscled for "50-50" balls and is still coming into his own as a dependable go-up-and-get-it guy. Average hand strength. Tends to trap some throws against his body and occasionally drops catchable balls. Could be more physical. Average elusiveness and open-field electricity. Showed he could be contained -- seven games of 60 yards or less as a junior.

my top of the draft guy Combine Guy for the Bears is

Justin Gilbert, CB, Ok. St., 6 feet tall, 205, ran a sub 4.4 and can return kicks. I don't think he gets to #14 but that would be nice

my bottom Combine Guy is

Dri, Archer, RB, Kent St., fastest guy at the combine and it shows on the field. Very small but lightning quick so a real change of pace back.

The goal is to find the next market inefficiency not buy in once the bubble has grown.

Buy high on the bigger d-back rage. I'll take the football player.

The Packers tried that drafting with Moss in the division. Pick the best CB and everything will fall into place. Otherwise you'll find yourself with Ahmad Carroll.

Invitations are out for the Combine in Indy from 2/17-2/23.

Here's the list of QBs that will be performing for your entertainment -

Quarterbacks

Anthony Boone, Duke
Brandon Bridge, South Alabama
Cody Fajardo, Nevada
Garrett Grayson, Colorado State
Connor Halliday, Washington State
Brett Hundley, UCLA
Sean Mannion, Oregon State
Marcus Mariota, Oregon
Nick Marshall, Auburn
Bryce Petty, Baylor
Blake Sims, Alabama
Jameis Winston, Florida State
Bryan Bennett (throwing QB), Southeastern Louisiana
Shane Carden (throwing QB), East Carolina
Jerry Lovelocke (throwing QB), Prairie View A&M

Bigfan's "huge guy with strong wildly inaccurate arm" desire will be fulfilled with Brandon Bridge.

Sounds like Mariota won't be throwing at the Combine - it will be interesting to see how that plays out. I think he's going to drop like a stone.

I'm interested in seeing Jerry Lovelocke. He's kind of a surprise invite over somebody like Bo Wallace. He's 6'5"/245 and somewhat mobile.

Here's some film on the guy if you feel like doing some scouting. The Abilene Christian game at about 1:07 you see a nice TD with some zip on his throws. 1:35 has a couple nice runs for a guy his size. Pretty fade route at about 9:20.

I'm starting to be a fan. He's a late, late / FA pick.

Just watched a couple other games. The Lovelocke guy has a nice arm and he's very mobile. He probably can't take a direct snap but I'll bet somebody drafts him.

There is a bumper crop of inaccurate QB in this draft. The first two on that list painfully inaccurate.

Agreed. But, it's still fun to scout them.

As an undrafted FA, I'm starting to target Lovelocke - except he'll probably get drafted and you can't have 2 completely inexperienced guys behind Cutler so it's not going to happen.

Bump. My fellow CSFMB scouts, they say you have to wait at least 2 years to judge a draft.

Well, while we still have some history, I think it's appropriate to look back on guys we liked 2-5 years ago and see how we did as scouts.

I don't want to boast but I'm not that great.

I'll start -

Burfict we've discussed.

From the 2014 draft, my "guys" were Charles Sims, RB, and Donte Moncrief, WR.

Sims seems decent. Ended up going in the early 3rd to Lovie. Last year carried 107 times for 4.9 yard average. Verdict: WIN

Moncrief also, not too bad. Went late in the 3rd to the Colts. Last year 64 grabs for 733 yards and 6 TDs. Verdict: WIN

Now the bad stuff -

My first post here Tommy Streeter, WR, a combine warrior that I wanted as a sleeper in the tradition of Marcus Monk. And, in the tradition of Marcus Monk, he sucked. Never caught a ball in the NFL. Played 2 games, though. Verdict: LOSS

Zach Brown, LB. Looked good at the combine. Ended up going mid-2nd and had a real nice rookie season. Injury-ridden. When he's played he's been pretty good. Signed with the Bills but to this point, as a mid-2nd, have to say, Verdict: LOSS.

I do love that Chicken Fried song though.

I've got a bunch more strewn about the site. I'd like to see some others if you guys are up for updating your scouting picks.

Still to Come: DAVID FALES

Bills LT Cordy Glenn signs $13.7M franchise tender

By Conor Orr
Around The NFL Writer
Updated: March 4, 2016 at 03:50 p.m.

Cordy Glenn, who was designated with the Bills' non-exclusive franchise tag Tuesday, signed the tender on Friday, the team announced.

Glenn, a former second-round pick out of Georgia in 2012, has been a tremendous value for the Bills over the length of his rookie contract, and now he wants to be paid. With a quarterback situation in transition and a coach who favors the running game, there is no stronger asset than an anchor at left tackle who does not miss games. The left tackle has started all 16 contests each of the past three years.

I think he would be perfect getting 10 touches a game.

be fair to me.

Second day of the draft used to be something like 4-7 rounds. He still wasn't good. I love my fast, small running backs late (I notice I had Dri Archer earlier in this thread). Wolfe also was eskimo brothers with shakes, so, salute!

Stupid GM took him too early in one of the most monumentally bad drafts in Bear history.
