I was a sophomore in HS at the Rams/Packers game in St. Louis. My 400-lb. Spanish teacher was a huge Green Bay fan. Before the game, I look down a few seats, and he's sitting right there. I didn't say anything to him. For the next three hours, he screams at Lawrence Phillips, from the 400-level, mind you, about wife beater this, you're a POS, etc. I was terrified. Told him the next day I saw him at the game. "Why didn't you say hi, amigo?"

He should have just "cracked" those women open-handed.

I do not get this part of it.

"In 2008, Phillips was sentenced to 31 years in prison for convictions that included domestic violence, spousal abuse, false imprisonment and vehicle theft. In June, USA Today published a series of Phillips' harrowing letters from prison, many of which refer to the Huskers program where he starred from 1993 to 1995."

Yes he had a criminal background but 31 years for those offenses seems to me they gave him no chance at redemption. My point being that if you are in jail for essentially the rest of your life there is no incentive to not flake out a kill a guy. A few more years makes no difference and he'd never get executed.

He ran over some teenagers with a car and choked his girlfriend until she was unconscious. 31 years seems fine.
