100% sure they appeal, precedent.

NFL has filed appeal. No stay requested. #BradyCase

Because it affects on the clock performance/quality/product.
There are lots of instances where off the clock behavior can result in on the clock discipline.

CBA says Goodell can use his powers to protect the integrity of the league.
Goodell suspects there is information on the cell phone and asks to see that info then Brady destroys it.

Goodell screwed up because he didn't follow the proper steps.
It seems like if he would have said "if you don't show me the info I need on the phone, you will be suspended", then Brady would still be suspended right now.

Yea, but in those instances (dui) they still need proper documents like police reports. They cant say, I think you've been breaking the law, give me your emails and phone, we need to do some checking.

If he destroyed the phone, then I think that probably means he's guilty but imo they still have no right to his personal cell phone (and the insane amount of private info that is in there)

Especially with how easy and common it is for companies to give out phones for company time and then they'd obviously have the rights to those

A man who accepts a company phone is a willing participant in his own enslavement.

A company issued phone? Absolutely it's the company's right to search and confiscate. Period. Not sure what that has to do with Brady.

Gooddell has made his own bed. Like any politician, had he simply acted justly and consistently with all discipline cases, he'd have an easier time. Regardless of Tom Brady's actions, Gooddell made this a power struggle..went all in and has lost.

Yes, Im saying they have no rights to a private phone, and if they want that, they should issue phones to each player and then they own those

Feeley wasn't fined or suspended for worse. The NFL couldn't even actually prove that the balls were deflated. The Patriots used science to poke holes in their case.

Why did the Patriots accept the harsh penalties and fire 2 employees before the Brady stuff began?

To ostensibly stave-off further sanction from the NFL ... though nobody could have really guessed how fucktarded this would all end up being.

That could be it, but those were some pretty serious penalities to just accept.

They were but they probably thought it was best to make it go away. Many feel that the Falcons did something far worse and got slapped on the wrist.

The NFL should appeal for no other reason than to make Brady spend more money. There's your fine.

Oh this stuff today is just too good.

Quote:
Looking back on it, several former Patriots coaches insist that spying helped them most against less sophisticated teams -- the Dolphins and Bills chief among them -- whose coaches didn't bother changing their signals.

"Hehe, guys, I gotta tell ya, this Dolphins team is going to be something else."
