DPOY? Idk. DeMarcus Lawrence doesn’t feel right.

Stop polluting the Luck thread with your general NFL thoughts, all of which are garbage.

All of you put Stafford ahead of Luck in your rankings in that other thread.

There is no advanced metrics versus traditional stats argument. There is a valid statistics versus flawed statistics argument.

Yeah, I had him one spot ahead. Basically even. Like I said in that thread, Luck is one of the harder QBs to rank since we just don't know yet how he's going to return from injury or if he can even stay healthy.

I didn't have Dalton ranked ahead of him though

Maybe you should. Dalton is hot to start the season.

Well Stafford had the atrocious Game 1, but was excellent in Game 2.

But we have Stafford's excellent body of work keeping us comfortable in our assessment that he is the superior QB. Since you questioned how good Stafford would be going forward in this thread, he has put up a 94.7 Rating, with 57 TD and 24 Int, 65% completion percentage and 7.5 Y/A.

And Luck had 31 TDs, 13 INTs, and a 96.4 QB rating in his one relatively healthy season since this debate, so I am still confident Luck will be better going forward. Stafford's been way healthier so that's why he gets the edge in the 13th and 14th spots on the QB list... for now.

Stafford never built on that monster 2011 season. I'm not even sure its his fault, the Lions never had a cohesive plan to build around him. That 2012 off-season after he threw for 40+ TD and 5000+ yards was defined by...extending everyone they had already. Now that included Megatron getting huge money but still, that was the year the Bears acquired Brandon Marshall for two 3rds. Could you imagine what Megatron-Marshall would've been like for Detroit? I dont even have to mention specific misses because they just did nothing to get better that year. They went into 2012 with Brandon Pettigrew, Tony Scheffler and Titus Young as their weapons after Megatron. How could they not sense the opportunity they had there? IIRC Stafford rookie deal came before the CBA fixed rookie contracts but he there was still a window there to go hog wild for an off-season or two to make a run.

Stafford with a competent organisation I genuinely believe would go down as elite. Every bit as good as the guys we call elite today. But it didn't work out that way for him.

You've just stated exactly what makes someone NOT elite.

Brady is elite.
Rodgers is elite.
P. Manning was elite.
They are the guys that put the entire team on their shoulders and make them competitive. Staffford is NOT this.

We will never know the truth about Brady & his coach. One of the great all time NFL mysteries if one created the other or if separated the Patriots enjoy near the success they have.

The Luck/Stafford debate, if could ever even call it one, is over. Luck looks awesome again.

O Line has been great and deserves a lot of praise too. I don't think the credit is an either/or thing. Luck has played like a MVP and the line has also been great

Made a great off-balance throw yesterday after shrugging off a pass rusher.

Luck is much better, he's been hit more than any other QB in the NFL since he's been in the league..and that's including the games he's missed..his line and run game are pretty lousy.

You might want to review news clips of Cutler in Denver. You just make up your mind about shit and spout.
