Had this discussion with a co-worker today.

Co-worker thought they were a team that plays really well in the regular season but would have some flaws exposed in the playoffs and get bounced before the Superbowl.

I say they have a QB that is playing really well. They have a tough defense (although yesterdays show against the Saints makes me question this). I think they are built to do well in the playoffs and can win the Superbowl.

What say you CSFMB?

I would love to see a TB-Carolina playoff game first. Ron's revenge against Lovie.

Yeah. They got home field advantage. So the Packers, Seattle and Arizona have to go there. Carolina will be favorites in those games. They'll be huge favorites if they play the Vikings, Redskins, Giants or Bucs. They can beat the Patriots and the Broncos in the Super Bowl. Though the Pats will be slight favorites if they get their guys back. If they play the Broncos it will be a pick em.

They would destroy the Bucs.

I think they can, my main concern with them is the weapons on the outside if their run game gets shut down.

Of course they can.

They arent a lock but a 12-0 team in this mediocre league absolutely has a shot

Yes they can. Cam is playing out of his mind. A Carolina/Arizona playoff game should be a hell of a game.

yesterday's game was a trap game; i wouldn't judge them primarily on that. the key is that carolina finds ways to win and have come back when down, they don't quit. this is definitely a team that can win the superbowl.

I hope they do. But NO gave em the business for most of the game yesterday. And Cam and the team seem to turn into a turnover machine at times.

Cam's 4th down scramble and Olsen's shoestring/fingertip catch brought tears to my eyes:

Cam is playing out of his mind? I'm looking at the QB stats and he is fourth from the bottom in completion percentage, and fifth from the bottom in yards/game. Palmer is about the same (fourth or fifth) from the top of the board. I will grant you that the current receiving corps favors AZ (and therefore better stats for Palmer) but it shouldn't make one QB a top ten guy and another a bottom ten. Yes, he can still scramble/run well, and that's certainly a dimension you have to consider, but I'd say Carolina is winning these games mostly on their great defense. Arizona has great defense and decent special teams, so I'll take them over Carolina in the NFC.

I don't think there's anything Jaromir Jagr can't do.

Here's what I came up with in the playoff machine:

Interestingly, this would force the Vikings to play the Packers the very next week (I'm giving the week 17 game to the Packers.)

Redskins are playing great ball and Cousins has been very good. They could be dangerous in the playoffs.

I think it would be a good thing for them. teams are gunning for them harder each week.

Makes it that much more impressive if you run the table, but I think an L would be a a help for them, takes some pressure off.

They will get smoked by Seattle.

Redskins barely beat a Bears team that has given up on the year.

No way in hell they are dangerous to any other playoff team.

They aren't "dangerous" in any general sense, but they could easily beat Minnesota and Green Bay. I'd be shocked if they beat Arizona, Seattle, or Carolina though.

Yeah I should amend my thoughts to no way in hell they are dangerous to any of the top teams in the playoffs.

I don't see them beating the Packers.

They could possibly beat the Vikings.

Skins in Lambeau would be 7-9 point dogs, Pack would cover.

I'm glad Carolina lost.. Rest those boys up for a couple weeks and kick some ass in the postseason.

I dont know about that. Redskins might be the hottest team in the NFL right now, and the Packers arent well and are losing players to injury. Right now Cousins is playing better than ARod.
