Not according to McDaniels, who told Brandon Marshall after the game the rationale. Marshall didn't believe it, but it was true.

I grant you that the interaction between the ref and the PATS captain was strange after the toss. The ref asked the PATS players if they want to kick? Huh??

How many refs ask if you want to kick after winning the toss in overtime, which in most cases is never the preferred choice? They might ask if a team wants to kick or receive, but not say just kick by itself? I would think in most cases the refs ask if the team who wins the toss wants to receive.

Just messin with you. I thought it looked like Luke with a Hitler mustache.

I was never into Phish, so of course, I wouldn't have known the guy.
