So Pagano is likely out and the GM's fate is more ambiguous. Setting aside that mess for a moment and Luck's up and down year, is the Colts job the best job opening? The article suggested the GM's fate could be tied to the incoming coach's preference for a GM. Sounds bizarre but that makes it even dreamier for a coach: Luck and I get to pick my own GM over whom I will presumably enjoy supervisory powers. Can't think of a better potential opening.

The Colts are a mess right now.

You do not tie keeping a GM to the coach or the QB.

They are screwing up the best years of Luck.

No way.

Titans, Jags, and Texans are no longer tomato cans.

Maybe true but wouldn't the Colts have the best QB of the bunch? If they get good personnel guys acquiring talent and drafting then you're set.

Have to see what kind of condition Luck is in next August.

I really like Mariota and Bortles and their getting better at football.

Will the Titans hire Chip Kelly and reunite him with Marcus?

The biggest thing that keeps the Colts from being a GREAT opening is the owner.

He's a mess. If I am a highly sought after coach, I'm not looking to work for a narco addict/ego maniac.

The near dismissal of early QBs really amazes me, however tons of credit to Jvill for moving on quickly from Gabbert to Bortles.

Anyone who takes that gig with Grigson still there is out of their mind.

If the Lions fire Caldwell, that is the best roster looking for a coach.

Gotta work for the GM though, I assume, in Detroit. In Indy there's a chance of control over the roster and other personnel matters, though Spanky's point about the owner is also a concern.
