Anybody know why the Super Bowl isn't held at the Rose Bowl anymore? I'm guessing maybe a money thing or that there wouldn't be enough brought in from a College stadium anymore.

I think that last one held there was Cowboys vs Bills in 1993. I always thought that it was a beautiful setting.

The NFL's policy was not to hold a Super Bowl in greater L.A. until there was a team there again. Since then, Pasadena has gotten kind of cantankerous about how the Rose Bowl is used, including not wanting an NFL team to use it as a temporary home. Football at Dodger Stadium or a non-convertible Angel Stadium would have been weird.

I don't know whether the Rose Bowl has the same landmark as the L.A. Coliseum. I'm guessing no. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Rose Bowl Game move to Inglewood the way the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl left their namesakes for pro stadiums.

Never been there, but is Pasadena a bad area or just the stadium getting ancient? It always looks kind of sparkly for the Rose Bowl and Brent Musberger to spot the pretty girls.
