You either play the right way or you sit. That's not a hard concept to learn. This team is learning how to play the game the right way. You sacrifice victories now so it will pay off later. There are no shortcuts. This team will be better later in the season and they'll be a playoff team next year.

Didn't know Thibs lived next to darkside.

I have to agree with ltg here

Jones needs to play. I was high on Dunn to begin with but he looks like he needs a lot more seasoning. Tyus looks a lot more ready
I know Thibs is a defense guy and Dunn is already a pretty solid defender so that's my only guess as to why he's playing more
But between him and Rubio they can't hit the broad side of a barn

Nice start tonight vs Spurs
Expecting a massive collapse soon, but nice start
Especially Dunn
Finally showing some things

Spurs have a 4 point lead and I feel like this is over
Maybe go check on this pot roast or something

Rubio is such a glaring weakness for this team.

I'm so with you on Rubio
They looked so much more fluid as a whole with Dunn
Should be an interesting 4th...

I really think they'd have a couple more wins if they pulled the trigger on a deal for Rubio over the summer.

Dunn and Jones needs to be the PG rotation. I just picture the locker room being extra uncomfortable with everyone knowing Ricky was halfway out the door in June.

Exactly

its not like Dunn is Steph Curry with his shooting, but I think he can certainly be a better outside shooter than Rubio, and he's already taking it pretty strong to the rim (unlike Rubio)

i hate to give ltg any ammo, but the fact Thibs has total control means he's probably not going to get rid of Rubio. I can see Thibs clinging to him as one of the few veterans there is on the team like a security blanket

and yes i think it certainly has to affect morale in the locker room. when it's clear who the weak link is, it's going to cause a rift if that person continues to get the bulk of the minutes.

No they aren't. When you watch them you don't really get the impression that they will be a title contender in 3 years. They will be better but it will be an incremental improvement. There are a number of teams better that were predicted to be worse. Thibs and Rubio are the 2 biggest problems with the team.

Tyus Jones was instrumental in helping them win 2 of the games that they won and he is getting DNP-CDS 2 games later. That is Thibs and his not playing young guys in a nutshell.

The 3Rd quarter collapses are also troubling.

Yes. They're a young team that is still trying to learn how to win. MANY games they have losy it has been because of their execution late in games OR a shitty start to the 3rd quarter. They really needed KG in the locker room this year but I expect them to finish strong.

There have been a number of blowout losses so far. They also lost to a number of inferior teams. This is one of tougher stretches for them schedule wise and there hasn't been anything which suggests they will play much better. Offensively Towns Wiggins and Lavine have played well.

They will improve but if they finish under 35 wins its a big disappointment.

Another soul crushing loss last night

I just don't know how you manage to blow that one

At least they've had some blowouts to balance out the last second chokes to keep it interesting
Thought maybe they had turned a small corner with the Bulls win

They're panicking at the end. The game speeds up for all of them. Once it slows down for Towns and others they will start closing. So MANY reasons to be encouraged.

This team has led MANY of the better teams by double digits in the 4th. Once the game slows down they win more. Part of that is coaching and the other part is experience. The game is still too fast for them and there are times talent can't overcome that.

For me as long as the locker room is all in then everything else should fall in place. I don't read many local Minny papers but if there are leaks about fractures between the players and Thibs about whatever then I'd be concerned. Of course if someone like KC Johnson works the Wolves beat then you probably have to go to Yahoo's overnight NBA blog for insider info on the Wolves.

When they figure out this finishing the game thing there could be a nice run of wins for this team.
