These weren't overuse injuries, unless we're going to ignore the data. Thibs has gotten a Dusty rap. Like Dusty, he wins with whatever you give him. Hopefully, he gets the Dusty ending. He's a great coach.

Honestly I have no idea if use contributed to the bulk of their injuries. Maybe not Randle’s shoulder, but a hammy, a stress fracture, etc. - those could very well be aggravated by the way he manages his players.

For the most part, he's maximizing the potential of a starless team. He's done that at every stop. When he briefly had a star in Chicago, the Bulls had a shot to win a championship. I would even argue he was primarily responsible for Boston's title. Doc has had nothing but star filled teams and he's failed to sniff a title without Thibs.

playing your best players the bulk of the minutes is a pretty bold strategy , admittedly.

Thibs did a good job of coaching this year and even in the playoffs. To take a team loaded with cast-offs to the 2nd Round of the playoffs is pretty impressive

A lot of the games he wins during regular season come as result of playing his best players more minutes than the best players on the opposing team happen to play. However come playoff time that strategy doesn't work as well.
By that time his teams are spent with the other coach also playing his best players heavy minutes.

And the other thing about Thibs which players probably hate is the fact that he has his best players in during games that are unwinnable or games that they have no chance of losing. Rose should never have been in the game at time he injured himself in the playoffs. Randle should never have been in the game at the time he injured himself either.

He doesn't believe in limiting minutes that's for sure. But I don't think his teams get gassed in the playoffs. They run into superior talent.

Haliburton pissed the game away with two unforced turnovers.

tatum at the end of the game completely locked him up. haliburton also a huge liability on the defensive end in the post.

Indiana just isn’t that good. This will be a 4 or 5 game series. Book it.
