They look better with Dunn.

Dunn and Tyus Jones are logging good minutes on the court together in the 4th qtr recently.

Lavine hasn't been consistent.

They need to get rid of Rubio just for picks. Not sure why they would be interested in that Jackson contract.

Yeah, Jackson's a talented player, but the contract and fit isn't right. Also throwing in Shabazz along with Rubio would have been a horrible move.

Agreed. Gotta move Rubio for a second rounder at this point.

With the new bargaining agreement it won't be as much of cap hit.

Thibs loves shoot first point guards. It wouldn't improve the team much imo. The Wolves problem aside from Thibs's predictable offensive schemes is the fact that their core guys have terrible shot selection. A guy like Jackson will only make it worse.

Offensively they've been fine all year EXCEPT when it matters most. Their defense has been the biggest problem.

Timberwolves announcers calling Thibs out again. Openly questioning why he continues to play Dunn at the 1 in front of Jones. Rare to hear announcers question the decisions of their own coach.

Because Dunn is the future. If they're asking that question they're idiots.

Dunn isn't a point guard and Tyus Jones is actually younger. There are a few people surrounding the Wolves who are asking the exact same thing.

Dunn is going to be their future PG. He was the 5th pick in the draft. Didn't he just have a triple double?

He can't run a team. He's the future yet they attempted to acquire Bobby Jackson. Sounds like Thibs isn't sold.

Take it easy Thibs. I want Rubio gone as much as the next guy, but this isn't the way.

Good to see you finally came around on Rubio, this move makes no sense. N this draft is the most point guard heavy draft in history.

This move doesn't make much sense to me. Why give up any kind of assets for just a rental on Rose? They're 3.5 games out of the playoffs right now. Does acquiring Rose put them over the hump? Thibs should just sign his boy Captain Kirk for the rest of the season and have him play 40 minutes per game.

I've been all for moving Rubio since they drafted Dunn.

I don't know if Wiggins is a winning player. Close games he takes a lot of forced shots.

Thibs being bashed again by the Wolves announcers for the way he uses players. Said that he is putting Wiggins in a bad position by constantly having him go at Leonard. Leonard has locked him up all night and Thibs continues to try and iso against him. Also thinks the much better call is to allow Towns to iso against Gasol or LA. Hasn't gone to it once. Nor has he gone to pick and roll against Gasol. That is always good for quality shot.

They had won 5 out of 7 and I will be shocked if they don't lose 5 straight.

They have been playing better particularly on D. I have never heard local announcers go after their own coach the way the analyst for the TWolves goes after Thibs. They are constantly questioning his decisions.

Post subject:  Re: Official 2016-17 Timberwolves thread

you know, even tho i'm "late to the party" i still wanted to pop up and be like "what the fuck are the timberpips doing trading for derrick rose? it's not like they're gonna make the playoffs, and even if they do it's prolly a 7th/8th seed that gets fed to the warriors or spurs so i mean... lolwat?"

but then i looked up the western conf standings and see that at 25-37 your minnesota tenderwolves [think "thibbs grinding the players down into having tender muscles all over] are only appx ~3 games out of that lucrative WC #8 seed... with only 3 teams between MIN and the #8 seed with another team only one game behind them! (then it's another ~7 games to the #7 seed) so uhhh.... ok, playoffs are still theoretically on the table so now you wanna bring in derrick rose for a [value priced?] rental.... so you can make a mad-dash to the #8 seed, get sonned hard/core by the warriors, and then formally eschew any chances of #AnotherNBAMiracle happening in the draft lottery? really?

...but then i remember that [our guy?] thibbs coaches this team, and dadgummit a tom freaking thibodeau team don't even know how to spell the word quit! he'll grind them out there even if they're down 3-0 in the series and losing by 31pts with ~4mins left in the 4th quarter! #YouCantSpellThibodeauWithoutBO! #PUStinkies! #ComeHomeDerrick!

very nice win over the Clippers at home last night. Towns was a monster, outplayed Griffin

also nice to see a little more contribution from Dunn and Jones

they got the Warriors coming in tomorrow night reeling a bit, what a huge win that would be

7-3 in their past ten and basically scoring as much as they give up over the course of the whole season. Still have a shot to finish with a better record than the Bulls despite playing in a better conference under a first year coach.
