Clippers are a bit of a mirage right now. Playing well, but unlikely to sustain it over the long run with the lack of backcourt scoring they have. They're relying on Blake to do too much in the offense and they really don't have much else. Great defense only gets you so far in the playoffs, you need to score.

I'd be surprised if they made it out of the first round of the playoffs the way they are constructed.

I think if they just make the playoffs that's above expectations for this season.

GSW
Houston
OKC
Portland
Minnesota
San Antonio
Memphis
Clippers
Utah

Lakers
New Orleans
Phoenix
Sacto
Dallas
Denver

yea you might be right. They look to be in a group of 9 that have a shot at the playoffs. But, if Phoenix keeps playing like this maybe they are in that group as well. And then there is Denver, another team that could sneak into that group.

What they ought to do is have Portland and Clippers combine into one team that could beat GSW. Imagine Portland guards with Clippers frontcourt.

I think Denver will be in that group. They're starting to play better recently and Millsap is still working his way in. They're too good not to be though.

So who misses in the west?

Gotta figure the following are locks...

GSW
Houston
OKC
San Antonio
Memphis

That leaves 3 spots for these teams..

Minny
LAC
Denver
Utah
Portland

Clippers will miss the playoffs when Griffin goes down with injury. Portland also misses.

Post subject:  Re: NBA Regular Season Thread

I'm not willing to call Memphis a lock yet.

I think the only locks are

GS
SA
Houston
OKC

And then I think the other playoff contenders are 4 of the following 6:

Minny
LAC
Denver
Portland
Memphis
Utah

And I would have a very tough time picking four of those. If I had to guess I would say Portland and Memphis(I know I'm probably dumb for saying Memphis, don't trust em though)

I like the Lakers but don't think they have quite enough this year. I think Phoenix is playing way over it's head right now. The Pelicans are just trash as hell all around from the owner on down outside of Cousins and AD. Sac and Dallas are obviously out.

Bummer Kawhi is still out for tonight's game. I expect SA to keep it close for a quarter and a half or so before getting blown out.

Lakers/Blazers should be fun.

Some great games tonight.

In the early games you got Milwaukee at Detroit, but the game I'm looking forward to is Indiana at Philly. You also have Cleveland at Washington but I don't see the point in watching the Cavs right now if they aren't even trying.

6:30 brings us to a really intriguing game all of the sudden, Phoenix at New York. Two teams all of the sudden playing well.

8:00 I' checking out Toronto at Utah, two solid teams.

8:30 has a great game Boston at OKC.

And then at 9:30 DeAngelo Russell comes back to the Forum.

Sorry, Bulls game didn't make the cut.

This game is nuts
Embiid blows a monster dunk but then oladipo gets out of control on the other end and turns it over , then reddick hits a desperation 3

Lakers are better than I first thought. Don't think they are a playoff team but they have some talent. With the addition of Kuzma case could be made that Ball is the worst player in their starting lineup.

I don't think anyone watching agrees with your last sentence. They're a noticeably better team when he's on the court.

And I'm quite sure that his not so stellar play has a lot to do with it.

Read these posts in sequence again. Your reply doesn't make sense.

I had to turn it off. The NBAtv feed was so fucked up it was unwatchable here. I'll check back in the second half.

Yea I agree , on tv you obv don't need someone describing the movements and action to you . I'd rather hear players discussing the nuances of what's going on

Bucks letting it slip away
Bledsoe is really going to help , they're GF or nothing
