Olajuwon was the best player in the world in 1994 when Jordan was playing baseball.

Giannis's "shot doctor" was back in the house last night and he went for 50.

17 of 19 from the stripe, he was a man amongst boys last night. He wasn't losing that game. I still can't believe it.

that's only because aussie born Kyrie Irving wasn't on the court. Didn't South African by way of Kanaydia Steve Nash win MVP a time or two? Nash's teams would've had more success had he played a decade later

True. But by early indications, the Suns have more ways and more guys to put the ball in the hole.

Yep, this didn't age well at all.

agreed. this is really pathetic. but, they earned it. they went through two really good teams. injuries i guess was the cause, but they still did it.

whats nice is both these teams want this ring bad. the gameplay was furious last night. fun to watch.

thought maybe there'd be some value in the Warriors this early but the books all have Golden State 4th behind those 3; which is maybe a little elevated, depends on what they do with all their draft picks and trade assets. Thought they should've flipped the Wiseman pick for a veteran but maybe he'll pan out over time. Or they'll package Wiseman with their 2 first round picks this year to get someone like Siakim. Tho the way Siakim played in the bubble that would be excessive

This series was a win for the NBA. Don't care what the Final ratings happen to be. It was good to see 70,000 + plus fans eagerly awaiting a championship win for their squad. Small Market teams in the Finals with none of the Superteam crap. I hope there is more of it quite frankly. Both teams competed their ass off last night. Good to see!

That's a good one but I'd still say Shaq or David Robinson was the better individual player during those years.

I don't care about that. I'm a fan of the game. There were some good games in this series and the closeout game came down to the last minute or two. I will let the wannabe Dan Bernstein types sort out the "business" side of this. It was a good series. That is all that i care about.

My wife and I watched....and enjoyed the finals. The only reason we did was it was the Bucks. Would have done the same had it been the Bulls, but we know that's a pipe dream.

You said it before and were 100% correct....the NBA markets stars, not teams. It's short-sighted. It may work for their core fanbase, but when it comes to the casual observer it's a complete failure. Lebron and the Lakers against Kevin Durant and the Nets would have been the NBA's wet dream....we wouldn't have watched a single second of the playoffs. That's not a knock on Lebron or Durant....I just don't give a flying fuck about either of them because they don't play for the Bulls or the Bucks.

I enjoyed the finals....it was the first year in well over a decade I had any interest in watching. I still hate how much the game lives and dies with the 3-pt shot

I agree with all of this. It was beautiful to see a non 3 point shooter and a few guys that take a ton of mid range shots dominate this series.

And the NBA has to start transitioning away from Lebron James. And the marketing of only the "superstar" players. That model worked when they were trying to grow the league. Now that the league is established they have to market teams and the actual game more. The most rabid fans in the league are usually found on small market teams. It was crazy to watch a game and not be able to hear the whistle because the stadium was so loud again. I don't recall that happening since the Bulls were playing at the old Chicago Stadium back in the day. It was great to see.

I think Kevin Durant is probably the best player in the world right now.

Durant is still the best player right now.

And Hakeem was the best player in 94-95.

My team came out of nowhere to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals and my favorite player was elevated to superstar finally by national media. Lost to the eventual champs who were far more healthy than us and still took them 6 games to do it.

yea, I don’t think “rough” is the correct adjective.

"Superstar" got passed over on an Olympic team that has been hemorrhaging players for over a decade. Star player yes Superstar player forget about it.
