as I suspected, AD was not that hurt and has sat out as long as he can to go into the playoffs healthy. He'll come back at some point, play at 50 percent and then both LBJ and AD will try and throw the switch for the playoffs. Russ will get sat more and more. Dude has very little confidence left shooting anywhere outside of 2 ft.

Some of the supporting cast has really played well. Carmelo, Monk, Stanley Johnson. Even Reeves, although despite announcers trying to turn him into the next Caruso, he's a liability defensively. Just a smart try hard grindy guy but he's exposed in one on one matchups.

i got to say, i like the direction the cavs are going (mobley, allen, garland and lavert)...but, as long as two of the biggest pussies in the league in maarkinen and love get big minutes, this team will always stumble.

it's crazy watching Russ miss wide open layups regularly now. Last night against the Raptors, more of the Lakers clearly hitting resistance, wanting to keep their powder dry and shutting off the gas. Lebron continues to impress from the perimeter but one wonders if he'll have the stamina to consistently drive to the hole in the playoffs.

Teams have figured out to stick a big on Lebron, not just because the Lakers are going small but because Lebron doesn't have quite the same quickness anymore to get around length. Carmelo continues to play well, and Horton-Tucker is either injured or has put on too much weight....just not explosive anymore and clearly unconfident. All these guys other than Carmelo and Monk pause before they shoot....they've got a hitch and the D can get back home on a lot of them....

Love is an expiring next year and Love + Lauri = Lebron's contract (approx); all set up to swap Love & Lauri to LA for Lebron's return to Cleveland this Summer.

this is shades of 2013 for the Lakers when Kobe had to carry the team at 35 and blew out his achilles. Lebron is very close to blowing something out, I'd say odds are his knee. If he and AD are playing "throw the switch" in the playoffs, I give Lebron one game before something catastrophic happen. And the Cavs don't want any part of that.

I still take some pride in being 100 percent right about Lauri. Luckily that pick was wrong enough that AK came to town.

poor cleveland. they've had to wait for garland and lavert to get healthy to play them together, then allen breaks a finger. playing markinnen & love for a combined 50 minutes in a big game against philly at home...that will never end well. i'm thinking the cavs will finish higher than the bulls next year. garland/lavert/mobley/allen...very good talent.

took slippery charlotte last night. not based on charlotte at home, but, by how piss-poor atlanta is. they squeaked by the other night at home against the ymca trailblazers. the worst team in the league, portland - shooting over 50% in atlanta with a collection of misfits. atlanta is not very good without john collins. he's been the difference - whether young gets 44 or 14. i heard some radio guys say the other day that once the atlanta players got paid after last year - they've put up the 'gone fishin' sign since. makes sense to me.

This will end up giving him about 6 days off as they return home from the trip.

really kinda shocked that the Lakers didn't win last night. Terrible shooting night. They really did want to win that game, you could sense the urgency out of the gate but they couldn't hit the broad side of the barn in the third quarter. Flat broke. Now theoretically the Spurs could catch them but I still don't see that happening because the Spurs have a decently tough schedule from here on out. so do the Lakers but they're a game up still on the Spurs even though the Spurs have the tiebreaker...

Davis will probably have to come back next week, I'd assume they want to get him game action before the playoffs.
