Glad the greatest GM in history saw that Jimmy was the perfect fit to get the Heat into the Finals and mentor Bam into a star. I suspect Tatum’s on the Melo career path and this conference final is as close as he’ll ever get while he’s doomed to tour the league putting up meaningless stats as the #1 on mediocre teams.

Obligatory Melo shot notwithstanding the kid has played in 2 Conference Finals in 3 years. Hardly constitutes meaningless.

So you can make the Finals with Jimmy Butler.

As the 4th best player on his own team you can.. And while playing in the highly favorable bubble conditions I guess.

Tatum not deciding to play until the 2nd qtr was a bigger detriment than anything Stevens did.

Big players need to play big the entire game.

I’m a big Tatum fan, but shitting the bed in the first qtr the last 3 games ruined the Celtics chances.

Yeah but they were up 6 and had the momentum early in the 4th and he substituted Williams for Theis and Bam scored on back to back plays and started dropping dimes again.

He also decided to go to the small ball crap again even after seeing it not work at any point in the series.

It was on him much more than Tatum.

Would you give Stevens one more chance?

Or can him now?

I'd lean towards canning him now. Partially because of who I think he is as a coach but mostly because of which coaches are currently on the market. There are a lot of good coaches on the market at present.

When you look at the last 2 years with him as coach his teams have tended to quit on him. They should have beaten Miami and they were much better than Toronto also and went to 7 games, needing a defensive stop at the end in order to pull that series out.

They laid down against Milwaukee last season also.

I don't like his in game adjustments and his team tends to play a little bit too undisciplined at times. Particularly in key moments.

He gets exposed against the better coaches in the NBA all of the time.

Seems like for 5 years I've liked their talent. And for 5 years they roll snake eyes in the playoffs. I'm sure Dann Ainge is more frustrated than anybody. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he pulls the rug.

I posted this on Facebook (Button 48) and I just keep adding a year every time they lose.

Boston Celtics: 2016-2020 NBA biggest collection of accumulated assets that never won anything Champions.

I think Brad Stevens might just be on the clock. Probably one more year to get it done.
