If they thought Lonzo was good they'd do the deal imo.

No. Pop is like Belichek. He doesn't put up with sideshow bullshit.

He once coached Stephen Jackson. Stephen Jackson makes Lavar Ball look like Pee Wee Herman.

If they really thought Ball were any good they'd roll the dice.
Still doesn't explain why the Lakers are so ready to abort mission on him. From Franchise to Trade Bait after one season?

How does Stephen Jackson make Lavar Ball look like a buy caught masturbating in a movie theater?

And Stephen Jackson illustrates my point perfectly. Belicheck takes on "bad apples" but they are always on their best behavior for him. I don't think Pop has anything against Lonzo, but he can't control his dad. And he's not going to put up with that shit.

Yeah but prior to that he was thought as the nerdiest guy in America.

Ball isn't a player. He can be marginalized. His bombast is only relative to his son being a great player. Magic has muzzled him to a degree. Nary a peep out of Lavar in 5 or 6 months.

Once the Ball hype died down Lavar became much less of an asshole. Stephen Jackson was a much more difficult player to deal with and Pop loved him.

Lonzo's leverage is severely diminished if the Lakers have no problem moving him.

What are the odds its a bullshit injury to tank his trade value and keep him on the Lakers?

sad.

but really who would want to trade for him? they really want to deal w/ the dad's bullshit.

i'm sure if LeBron wants to go there he probably told them he doesn't want to deal w/ the Ball circus.

Nah that ain't it. When you are really good, young, and cheap your name doesn't come up in trade rumors.

Boston isn't entertaining any offers for Tatum. None of the other good rookies are on the block either.

The mere fact that the Lakers are actively pursuing three high level players is quite telling.

They are talking about pairing the 3 guys with each other but there is little talk about wanting to pair them with Ball.

They seemed like they have determined that he isn't the guy.

Here is why i think the knee injury stuff is bogus and conveniently timed by the Lakers to hide his lack of value on the open market.

I recently saw a photograph of a beefed up Ball which was posted to demonstrate how he was hitting the weights.

Magic also was quoted after the season as saying they were going to add muscle to Ball's frame and all he'd focus on during the off season would be adding muscle.

Could Ball possibly be hitting the weights like that if he has a torn meniscus? I don't think so.

This Lonzo Laker situation has the potential to get pretty ugly. Now they believed that he leaked injury in order to put a stop on a potential trade.

ive been browsing the news today about lebron and the lakers.

With the recent moves in the last day you know LEBRON IS THE GM right now.

I guess it comes w/ the territory.

All the writers also are saying Lonzo is gone as they say LeBron wont take the dad's shit. How do they know? Maybe LeBron will help him. Hateful writers projecting their hate.

is this guy a baby? He needs to be around la? I mean maybe if he left and was on his own it would help him mature as a person and player. Unless it's the dad trying to get a tv show and needs his kid in hollywood.

Watching summer league game yesterday and announcer said that he's hearing the Lakers aren't going to trade Lonzo because Lebron is very much looking forward to playing with him.

Hearing that 2nd hand anecdotal evidence reminded me of when Lebron played vs Lonzo for the first time and had really great things to say about him, particularly how guys would definitely want to play with Lonzo. Here is the article from last December.

Good, get that thing fixed once and for all. From what i hear it's not that serious and he could be back playing ball in a couple weeks.

I hope this guy doesn't end up being brittle due to overtraining.

I think this is the same knee that's been bugging him all year. So he's finally getting it fixed. Just doing a pinhole surgery to shave meniscus. I imagine that's a pretty quick turnaround to get back on the court.

Lonzo looked good in the two pre-season games he played. Especially for a guy who hasn't played since March and had knee surgery over the summer.

His shot looks better, not taking it up from the side as much and he's more square. He's gained 10-15 lbs in muscle and it's very noticeable.

I think his stats will go down this year, but his efficiency will go way up and just in general, he'll be a better player. Learning from Lebron and Rondo is going to do amazing things for Zo's development.

I guess the days of thinking he is "no doubt better than guys like Jayson Tatum" are now over. Now this clown has been reduced to celebrating declining stats.

Mind you they brought in 2 guys (Lebron/Rondo) that they are looking at to essentially be his replacement. Interesting how you don't hear much in the way of "stud" talk these days. Now its merely good to consider things like reformed jump shots and weight training. This after spending the past year repeatedly telling the world that there was nothing wrong with his jump shot.

Lonzo is light years ahead of Tatum. No question.

Not a good start last night for Lonzo. Can't wait for Lavar to take a shot at Lebron.

I'm not going to lie. I'm waiting on that also. I think he goes on the block the same day if that happens. I don't know if Lebron with his massive ego took too kindly to the "Lebron came here to play with Lonzo"   comments from the summer either.

Lonzo has been on the trading block since June.

I am waiting for Lavar to pop off as well. It's coming.

I think Lavar realized his 2 other kids are never going to be in the NBA, he can't fuck up lonzos career.

Lonzo played well in his first start of the year. 14/6/6 with good shooting.
