He should get as much shit as LeBron for leaving. Can't cut it leading the team that drafted him. What were his stats in Games 5,6,7 in the Warriors series? No balls.

Yep.

You can hear the Warrior bandwagon expanding. Ugh.

Russell Westbrook has to be smiling right now. Probably sets a NBA record for usage rate and records the second ever triple double average for a season.

Nah, KD's a good guy. Buys lots of drinks.

Also, Durant's mom would never give Delonte West the time of day.

from the link that's getting ddos'd:

Quote:
This has been by far the most challenging few weeks in my professional life. I understood cognitively that I was facing a crossroads in my evolution as a player and as a man, and that it came with exceptionally difficult choices. What I didn’t truly understand, however, was the range of emotions I would feel during this process.

The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player — as that has always steered me in the right direction. But I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man: moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth. With this in mind, I have decided that I am going to join the Golden State Warriors.

I’m from Washington, D.C. originally, but Oklahoma City truly raised me. It taught me so much about family as well as what it means to be a man. There are no words to express what the organization and the community mean to me, and what they will represent in my life and in my heart forever. The memories and friendships are something that go far beyond the game. Those invaluable relationships are what made this deliberation so challenging.

It really pains me to know that I will disappoint so many people with this choice, but I believe I am doing what I feel is the right thing at this point in my life and my playing career.

I will miss Oklahoma City, and the role I have had in building this remarkable team. I will forever cherish the relationships within the organization — the friends and teammates that I went to war with on the court for nine years, and all the fans and people of the community. They have always had my back unconditionally, and I cannot be more grateful for what they have meant to my family and to me.

This just shows how seriously he takes the Lil' B curse. He felt the only way he could possibly overcome it was by joining a super team.

Stephen A Smith nailed it in his words on ESPN this morning.

Should get more than LeBron. I guess he gets his title.

there has never been a Thunder team without Durant.

This leaves the East wide-open, sorta, after the Cavs. Cavs are the presumed Eastern Conference champs--except you have Kevin Love and Kyrie and their injury histories going back to their college days. And LeBron and his insane number of NBA minutes over the last decade.

LeBron got shit because he left his home town for a shit sports town that doesn't give a fuck about anything. Durant is trying to win a title and leaving a godforsaken bible belt city for greener pastures. he's not from oklahoma city, he doesn't owe them shit.

not even close.

Just to be clear: Michael Jordan NEVER would have left Bulls to join forces w/ other superstars. But LeBron and Durant are not MJ.

I'm all for watching OKC go down in flames (#seattleremembers), but this framing is way too generous to Durant. Lebron left to play with his friends, Durant literally joined an already assembled super team team he was unable to beat.

Durant led a team that was up 3-1 on the Warriors, and they choked. Instead of joining them, how about commit yourself to getting better and beating them next year. He had a great opportunity to win at title with OKC.

It's a gutless ass move no matter how you look at it. The Thunder with Durant has more talent than any team in the league. It's not like he didn't have a good chance to win with the Thunder. Also if he had any sort of competitive spirit he'd want to beat G.S. they knocked him out of the playoffs and he was the guy most considered responsible for OKC's collapse. Get his gutless ass out of here.

If Durant didn't shit himself the last three games of that series they would of beaten the super team.
