How does one become a Timberwolves fan without connections to the Twin Cities? How does one become one with them?

i loved Guggliota. great player

last night's loss was horrific, and i'm blaming Thibs. would have been nice to call a timeout sometime to stop the bloodbath and maybe, idk, draw up a play rather than watching the carousel of 1 one 1 brick laying that was taking place. I believe the announcers said that this is the 5th game they've lost this year after leading by 15. can't close out games
also Al Horford looked like a beast

Only a select few are welcome in this thread? No critics allowed?

If that's the case, might as well go full on reddit with this thing and incorporate the upvote/downvote system so certain voices can't be heard.

There is another Wolves thread

Come on though, we're not talking religion or politics here. It's a Minnesota Timberwolves basketball thread. I think a little dissent is okay.

you're more than welcome to post here, as are all . it was an isolated incident that took place

dissent is more than welcome, see my displeasure w/ last night's game.

Blowing leads in the 2nd half like that is a sign of a young talented team. I also think the burden is on Thibs for now.

However, I do think this is a step up from last year when most T'Wolves games were over by halftime.

Really wish KG would have stuck around 1 more year.

Don't look now, but the T'Wolves are still in a game at the start of the 4th qtr. Only down 8 to the Suns. Progress!!!!

I'm sorry Bagels. I've been a big supporter of Rubio his whole career, but the pg combo for the T'Wolves needs to be Dunn and Tyus Jones. This team is playing really well in the 4th with Tyus Jones running the show tonight. Even though they might lose, Jones has given them a spark. I can't explain why Ricky doesn't work with this roster, but I'm fairly confident he's the piece that needs to be moved.

Nice win. Outscored the Suns 31-10 in the 4th.

Yep. At the very least Jones is a solid backup. He makes plays both scoring and assisting. Rubio can't score and really doesn't break guys down off the bounce. Elite vision and passer and a good defender. They need to move him and he expressed a desire to be moved before the season started.

Rubio would be fun on the Warriors, Cavs, or the Spurs. Those scenarios aren't likely, but maybe a team like the Sixers would take him as was discussed in June.

No, I agree im in favor of moving him

It seemed like Dunn got off to a fairly decent start then of course went back to 15 min a game once Rubio returned and yea Jones looked real good last night . Was nice to see a comeback for a change, good to know they can actually do it

Now they got the Warriors tonight

Put on the Bulls. Offense is looking great once again.

Karl Anthony Towns has scored 16 of Minnesota's first 22 points. No Noah to slow him down.

Yea I like when he kind of puts his shoulder down and just plays bully ball , it's a bit more effective than his back to the basket moves

Nothing like using 2 timeouts in a row and still not being able to inbound the ball

Didn't want to pile on our guy but that was really dumb. He called the 2nd timeout as the Knicks were trying to set their defense following the first timeout call. It wasn't like he had a chance to see their defensive alignment before calling the timeout.

Yea it was dumb
That was an awful awful game
Wolves should have lost by like 20, it was the Knicks going ice cold in the middle of the 4th that kept them in it , and it wasn't necessarily the result of good defense. I also think Towns is turning into somewhat of a black hole and that may be disenfranchising others...

Yeah and he also seems to get perimeter in key situations. Didn't like the 3 attempt down the stretch. He was dominating inside.

There is something amiss about this team. I want to say it's youth but I don't necessarily want to put it just on that. Their top 3 guys have played relatively well. They can get better but it's not like they haven't taken "the next step". Each has come into their own and they are 5-13.

When people talk about Thibs inability to develop young players it is important to take a look at how he is jerking Tyus Jones around. 2 games ago Jones essentially led them to victory. Last night he plays 6 minutes. Game before don't think he played til the 4th quarter. What's up with that?
