How would you know when the choice happens to be play for Thibs or be out the league? Its not like other teams in the league were beating down any of their doors.

He also overpaid for Taj to come and play for him. Are you really sure about that? Butler and Gibson complained about the number of minutes that Thibs had them play last season.

It actually supported what GarPax said but I chose not to take a victory lap on it.

Rose and Deng could have gotten jobs. I thought Taj was overpaid too but he earned his salary and turned back the clock last year. Butler is a diva. That's why Deng was brought in to help Wiggins.

There's no risk to signing any of these guys to minimum deals.

Bringing in Deng might work. Doesn't hurt, that's for sure. But whatever, wolves should be better than what they've shown. Butler and Towns are top 20 players

No reward either. Rose may have something left but Deng and Noah are shot fighters at this point.

Where is the vision? The Wolves have gone from one of the youngest teams in the league to one of the oldest virtually overnight.

Retread Bulls players who were benchriders on losing teams speaks of desperation.

Where is Josh Smith playing his ball this winter?

Taj was really good last season. Look at the other playing making $14MM a season like he is: http://www.espn.com/nba/salaries/_/page/3/seasontype/4.

Josh Smith still had a much better career. Using your logic makes Jamal Crawford better than Arenas.

I can find quite a few players making less that outperformed Gibson. Julius Randle signed for 9 mil a year and Every GM in the league would take him over Gibson right now.

Thibs the GM is killing the franchise and Thibs the coach has proven to be nothing more than middle of the road.

I seriously doubt that he makes it to Year 5

If Thibs wants someone to teach these guys defense, just hire Deng or Kirk Hinrich as an assistant coach. No need to put these retreads on the roster.

Wolves owner is about ready to pull the plug on Thibs experiment as GM and possibly as coach too.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2469 ... ves-season

Now Butler wants a sitdown to discuss what his concerns are regarding the team

May be i don't know but it seems to me that Butler is once again attempting to separate himself from the rest of the team. He never misses a chance to voice his displeasure with whomever his teammates happen to be.

He works hard so I kinda understand his frustration with Town's effort. He's a diva though that hasn't figured out how to lead

Butler + Kyrie to the Knicks next summer only works if they get KD on-board.

lol I didn't think about the angle where thibs sabotaged the heat deal to keep Jim buckets around for another season (to likely try and hold on to his job)

This is a mess. Idk how the Wolves can keep thibodeau around when they had a team with a young core that needed to learn how to win (or some platitude) and thus they bring in Thibs to ostensibly toughen them up and get them to play defense.... But he literally tries to recreate the early 2010s supertryhard bulls and ends up shipping off players and picks to bring in a guy who wants out after 1yr... And now he's sabotaging the team's efforts to get anything for that guy cuz he wants to be a 7-8 seed in the West to try to hold on to his job.

The only surprising thing at this point is that he didn't get joakim Noah in yet. What's Nate Robinson up to? They might need instant offense when Thibs is sitting KAT + wiggins for taj/Deng late in games because of defense.

i loved it when you saw the bottomline for game 2 of the timberwolves season and you saw "Butler DNP (rest)"

clearly thibs is working them so hard they're gassed by the second game of the season!

Laying the blame for the Butler debacle right where it belongs. With Thibs.

Bleacher Report is a joke. about a notch or two above Fansided. I will never cite such gibberish as one of my sources. Yahoo Answers has more credibility in the internet source cite game if you ask me.

One guy's opinion constitutes a majority?

List of other articles the guy has written. Maybe I should take the opinion of the guy who thinks MCW is a high level player and Portis is Tyrus Thomas over him though.

Tyrus Thomas was better than Bobby Portis.

Yahoo is better than Bleacher Report also.

Sports Illustrated for whom he writes, is also better.

So you want to rip Bleacher Report but then link an article from a GQ writer? This is an NBA offseason review, not a Dior cologne review.

This is something else he wrote:

"Find Someone Who Loves You Like Justin Bieber and Post Malone Love Each Other"

Who cares about other articles and I assumed this was an SI piece. The points he makes are relevant. Great Thibs overpaid in both instances. Bleacher Report is about a notch above fanside. UpRoxx has more cred.

I prefer when guys get out in front anyway. Nothing worse than a Monday morning QB. Everyone is an expert in hindsight.

Any Stat that has Rubio near the top is a ludicrous stat. Bleacher Report is also pretty weak as a source.

I believe Glen Taylor pushed for the Wiggins and KAT contracts, and Thibs is doing what he can with the hand he was dealt. He was seemingly promised autonomy with the basketball operations and has anything but. I don't see Butler or Thibodeau turning on each other like this. Thibodeau doesn't trade for Butler if he doesn't think he will be able to offer him a max contract.

Did Glen Taylor also push for the Butler trade as well? What about the Gorgui Dieng contract? What about this current situation involving Butler? You are speculating on Wiggins and Towns also.

How about the silly Jeff Teague and Taj contracts? If Thibs doesn't have autonomy then how do those moves get made?

Now we here that Butler told Thibs he wanted out 4 days after the season was over and Thibs did nothing.

https://clutchpoints.com/timberwolves-r ... thibodeau/

He has done a lousy job

The Taj contract is solid.

My criticism of Thibodeau's choice in point guards is well documented on this forum. I wanted them to keep Rubio.

You didn't want Lavine at 20 mil per year but Gibson's at 14 mil is considered "solid".

He is paying Dieng 16mil per year to play 10 minutes a game.

Did i also get to his terrible first round pick from last year Collins? Bet you didn't even know he existed.
