Watching Boston @ Lakers game 4 2008.

One of my favorite games of all time

This series and specifically this game is the game that slowed Kobe's approach towards Michael.

I watched this game intently at that time, but the one thing I noticed watching tonight that I forgot about, is that Kobe had a terrible game, 6-19 shooting.

Even more specific, he deferred to his teammates WAY too much in the first half, and it worked out for a while, but then when it came time for him to turn it on in the second half, he was completely out of rhythm. He just didnt have the talent on that team to measure up to Boston.

That whole year they coasted thru the Western Conference because of ball movement but they were very much a vanilla team and hadnt faced a high intensity defensive team like Boston (except the 2 games that Boston won in the regular season). So this was a shock to Kobe and Paul Pierce made him look like a rookie in this game, it was a beautiful thing to watch. Basketball at its purest.

This was the game that sunk Kobe in terms of his pursuit of MJ.
