Chris Paul's placement is the most egregious thing on first glance. Wade also never gets any respect on these lists, and I say that as someone who hates him. Same for Isiah.

Kawhi Leonard? Is he even old enough to drive yet?

Also this made me revisit Mike Francesa ranting about ESPN's own list last year. "ANY LIST THAT HAS BILL RUSSELL 7TH SHOULD BE TOO EMBARRASSED TO BE MADE PUBLIC" https://vid.me/zPjR

What's the most obvious errors in your opinion?

I never like these lists, they get #1 right and fuck up the rest, Oscar Robertson has to be top 10. Pippen isn't a top 30 player, I'd take Hakeem over every center in history, the second best center is Kareem. Curry, Steve Nash and Ewing aren't top 50 guys, maybe one day Curry is but not now.

Dwight Howard isn't a top 50 guy either.

Curry isn't a top 20 all time player. Probably not top 50 yet.

Isaiah Thomas is a top 20 player.

Dwight Howard shouldn't be there either.

Kawhi Leonard shouldn't be on the list either.

I will look at some others too but those are the ones that jump out. LeBron isn't #2 all time either.

Paul Pierce shouldn't be on the list and Pippen is too high. Pippen is close to about 50th on the list.

Chris Paul is not better than Scottie Pippen. When doing these discussions it's almost best to do it by era because Wilt Chamberlin is probably not as good in comparison to the modern NBA. I would probably do two lists: The NBA from 1980 to 2000 and the NBA from 2000 to the present.

Good point. Wilt was great for the 80s.

So you're suggesting that no player prior to 1980 should even be listed?

Shaquille O'Neal played in the modern era and dominated doing a lot of the same things that Wilt did. Great players can play in any era. Very Goffian and Bernstinian way of thinking.

I would not make a greatest of all-time list. I would make two lists of those two eras. People look at Bill Russell as this great player because of the Celtics success, but to win a championship at that time was only like 1 or 2 playoff series and some of those years there was less than 10 teams in the league. Prior to 1980 there were a lot of white players. Everybody knows now that white American players aren't very good. Kyle Korver is probably in the top 10 of white American players currently in the league. There is the era before Magic, Bird and Jordan and everything since. You can't compare the eras between 1980 to 2000 and 2000 to now because of things like hand-checking, flagrant fouls and three-point shooting. The amount of movement between teams with free agency also makes comparing the eras difficult.

I'm not going to argue why Dwight Howard should be on the list. I'll only say that he averaged 22 and 14 for five straight seasons and the year he single-handedly took the Magic to the Finals was a lot of fun. He was never the same after back surgery. It killed his prime years.

I'm surprised a couple of you don't think Steph Curry should be on the list. I think he belongs on it right damn now. Steve Nash is a top 50 guy as well. Jason Kidd should be ahead of him based on entire career but I'd rather have 2004-2008 Steve Nash than any Jason Kidd season.

The more I watch Curry the more I'm convinced that he is a product of that system more than anything. 3 years ago he wasn't even considered in the top 100 players.

As a basketball player he does 1 thing at an elite level. He is a terrible decision maker and defender. Against other elite guards in the playoffs (guards conspicuously not considered) he gets torched.

Terrible list.

Pippen too high.

Durant too high.

Curry too high.

Kidd too high.

Pierce too high.

Drexler too high.

Isiah too low.

Leonard and Howard shouldn't be on the list.

The entire list has too many recent players.

Kawhi is criminally underrated on this list. Top 30 easily

 Like I said above, can the dude even drive yet? He's got to play for at least seven more years before he even merits discussion.

Seven years from now he'll be #2 on the list
