Or he might have been like LaRue Martin.

Well, we're both off by four because he averaged 15.9. He did play with his left hand, but he wasn't a monster. Can't call a 7-footer who averages 16 and almost 10 a monster. I was never high on the guy. He always seemed slow, methodical, and hesitant.

Yeah, Oden's injuries derailed what would have been one hell of a career. Him and Dwight going at it in their mid-20's could have been one of those all time great rivalries. I also think Oden was willing, and serious about becoming the best basketball player he could be. Unlike Dwight mugging for the camera, and acting like a spoiled child throughout his career.

I liked and apologized for prime Howard more than maybe anyone on this board and even I don't think he'd have been much of a rival to a healthy Oden. It's a shame that the similarly more talented Embiid looks headed for that same fate.

We haven't had a great big in a while.

No way. You're all overrating Oden. All you had to do was listen to him talk. He was a goofball. There is no guarantee that he would have developed a post game. He would have definitely been a perennial defensive stud, but that's it, IMO.

Everyone got it right for the most part, IMO. It's Grant Hill with penny we a close second, and it's also silly for T Mac to be on there. Might as well have Kobe and his Achilles on there.

Lil' Penny is the biggest loss.

Bill Walton would have been top 5 all time if not for the problems with his feet.

Grant Hill.

And it's not like he had a horrible career. He had 3 or 4 great years. He played a long time as a role player after his injuries. I think Hill played over 15 seasons. Some of those other guys were out of the NBA quick.

Replace T Mac with Embiid

Grant Hill b/c he's remembered for playing basketball (albeit intermittently) rather than for, say, looking older than Bill Russell does now or for being in commercials with an animated Chris Rock yelling 'Tyra Banks!'.

Grant Hill

Penny would have been John Wall, nice player, not an all time great like Hill was going to be.

Why isn't D Rose on the list over Tmac.

Probably Hill, though he certainly got paid as though he was never hurt. The Magic still haven't recovered from that contract.

And having been a guy cutting his teeth on Kareem and Artis I really miss that style.
