Westbrook ...Harden? Who really gives a fuck? Those who do probably think the Dunk & 3-point contest mean something ....grow the fuck up

I don't think I've watched an NBA all star game, 3 point contest or dunk contest since the late 90's when I was 18 or 20...I DO care about the MVP, when you bust your ass for 82 games and stand above the rest, you should be recognized.

Russell Westbrook, easy decision

Works for me.

I wouldn't say it's an easy decision. Harden has a really strong case. I'd still go with Westbrook though.

The award goes to Westbrook. You have hit a new "score" low when the MVP means nothing.

it's so tedious....every day the NBA shows/pregames have a Harden/Westbrook discussion about MVP

nobody cares about the regular season yet i'm supposed to care about who's MVP. Any of the top 3-4 candidates work for me

What Westbrook is doing is insane. Usually I'm in awe of guys who average something close to a triple double over the course of a season, something like 25 7 and 7. But then this dude goes off for an actual triple double - 31 10 and 10 and his team is going to the postseason. Damn

This thread prompted me to look at the current NBA stats leaders on the CBS sports page. Lebron is in the top five of exactly nothing.

I'm not sure why it is even a debate between Westbrook and Harden. Harden literally does not even attempt to play defense. Add that to the fact that Westbrook is putting up historic numbers, and it should be unanimous.

Just look at this LTG “There’s no doubt about [Butler being in the top five of the MVP conversation],’’ coach Fred Hoiberg said. “A true sign of the MVP is what your team is without him. Look at our numbers when Jimmy is on the floor; we’re really good. And he makes other guys better. That’s the thing this year with putting the ball in his hands as much as we have. He not only creates for himself, but he’s making the right play and getting the ball to other guys and setting them up for easy shots.’’

You dismiss both the words of Hoiberg and anything MVP related. That is til you don't apparently. The Bulls have looked better offensively when Butler doesn't dominate the ball.

According to you he dominated the ball until Rondo came back?

He dominated the ball up until about 3 weeks ago. At some point his style of play changed. I think it occurred around the time of Wade''s injury. He is playing off the ball much more and he is trusting Rondo more. Rondo is orchestrating Hoiberg's offense the way it is supposed to be run.

Whenever Rondo was reinserted into starting lineup.
