It is crazy. but as they say in game 7 usually it comes down to some role player going off.

Rough night for the "Wall is better than Butler" argument

Wall is about the same as Butler. Wall has more ability but Butler is a little smarter player. Not by much though

Butler's way smarter and a much better two way player. He's definitely better than John Wall.

Not trolling at all. If given a choice to build around either I wouldn't hesitate to choose Butler. The advanced stats favor him across the board and so does the eye test. Wall gets lost on defense and turns it over way too much on offense. Also has questionable shot selection obviously.

I'm not the biggest Wall fan but he is a better player than Jimmy Butler. He didn't play well last night but Washington doesn't get there without him. Butler might not have been the most impactful player on his own team.

Agreed, if I'm picking a team and my options are Wall or Butler..I'm taking Wall.

Depends on the player. In G.S. It's the PF slot in S.A it's the 3 in Cleveland it's the 3. You can't universally say that's it point guard. In Dallas it's been PF for 20 years.

Wall is better. He makes guys around him better. Butler makes no one better.

Butler runs a lot of point for the Bulls by the way.

No he isn't. Butler impacts both ends of the court. And he's clearly by far the best player on the Bulls so I'm not sure what you're even talking about.

Butler is a better scorer than Wall per 100 posesssions. He is a better rebounder. He has a better assist to turnover ratio. He is a much better defender and is acknowledged as such with all defensive team honors. He had a better PER, W/48, BPM, and VORP. He has better traditional shooting percentages and a higher TS%.

There is no case to be made that John Wall is better than Jimmy Butler. Even if you disregard all the statistical evidence showing Butler is better and go by the eye test, the result is the same. Butler doesn't turn the ball over constantly and take bad shots nearly as often. He doesn't fall asleep on defense. He's better at making more difficult shots and is a far superior half court player.

Which player will finish higher on all NBA teams. Which person will garner more votes for MVP? I think there is your argument right there. We both know the answer to that
