I heard that Draymond Green is better than Charles Barkley so this thought would be the 2nd worst I heard today.

He's not there yet. Longevity matters.

I tend to cut PGs some slack because it's hard to dominate when you're the shortest guy on the court. By that metric I guess Thomas is the strongest "best PG" candidate post-Magic since he led his team to two rings from the PG position. Never saw him play but two rings is two rings.

Don't start that narrative. I've said in the past Sam Jones was as good as D Wade(go ahead and Google Sam jones )

But you guys who don't watch the NBA and think Draymond is some overrated clown should maybe consider watching the NBA. I wouldn't say he's better than Barkley, mainly because they are complete opposite players, but Draymond Green is a great player at a time when the NBA is overflowing with great players. He's a legitimate star and would be in any era.

I watch a lot of NBA, and am sure Nas does as well.

Draymond is not close to Barkley, and never will be.

I really try not to be this type of guy anymore but if you consistently watch warriors games and don't realize how valuable Draymond green is I have to at some point question if you know what you are watching. He is literally off the charts good at everything except scoring and he's pretty solid at that too.

ok. Guess I am disputed then.

Draymond is the 3rd best player on his own team. He is a really good player. Barkley was in the top tier of players during a great era of the NBA. Barkley was great. Draymond is really good. THere is a difference.

Of course this is correct. Stars can carry a team, and that requires elite scoring. Draymond is lucky to be on that team. If he was required to carry a team, he wouldn't even be known.

Barkley was probably better than Draymond but it's a pretty tough comparison to make. They are completely different players.

I'd Draymond Green isn't great then there's like 10 great players in the NBA right now. I'm fine with that point of view but MANY act like he's overrated. Every time the discussion comes up it pretty much proves he's one of he most underrated players in the NBA.

Draymond would have to fall back on his other unique skills (below) if he weren't on the Warriors.

Yes and no. Casual fans would not know his name if he was on the Hornets. That part is right. Any actual NBA fan would know he is great still because he would be. He is an elite player and would make any team he goes to instantly much better.

I think the only team in which he'd be the best player is Sacramento. That's just off the top of my head. I think if he ever had to be the guy he'd struggle mightily. Those intangibles that he gets lauded for would quickly turn into limitations perception wise.

Not even close. He would be the franchise player on at least 10 teams. If he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for nothing tomorrow the Nets would win 30+ games next year. He's the 2nd best defensive player in the game(He's going to win DPOY this year and many would say he's better than Kawhi), the 2nd/3rd best passing forward in the game next to Lebron and Giannis(who played PG this year). He's also a very good rebounder and can shoot threes. That type of player would go top 3 even in this loaded draft this year. It's simply a false statement to say he's not a star player. When I hear that I hear "I dont want him to be a star player"

Draymond is the 4th best player on his team and definitely isn't a star. He benefits a lot from the great players around him. He's Horace Grant.

To be fair to Green, being the fourth best player on his team isn't necessarily a knock against him.

He's the third best player on his team and he's often the MVP of a team with three other all stars during playoff games. Two other all stars including an MVP last year.
